    Default Playstation Audio Problem

I'm having a problem with this playstation that i bought today. When i turn it on, Instead of the sound BLING OOOOOOOOO I hear Pfffffffffffffffffffffffffffff, Like when the TV is on an Unsused channel. It's horrible. I've tried it with several games, And it repeats it.

Whenever i pop in an Audio CD, It DOES do this at start, but when i listen to the CD, it works with no problems.

This PS is a September 1999 Model.

Any ideas? I don't have much choice between stashing it somewhere, Smashing it with a hammer, Fixing it, Or throwing it out a window, Since these things aren't worth much.

I'm not sure what the problem is but DO NOT DESTROY THE CONSOLE!! I can't stand when people kill malfunctioning video game consoles or burn arcade cabinets that they can't repair. At the very least they're good to use as parts sources for the rest of us.

I'm sure I'll get ransacked about how incorrect I am about this, but as always, try the simplest things first.

    1. Run a cleaning CD through it.

    2. Try turning the system upside down, if it works fine then I'll reply with another fix later on.

    3. Open her up and make sure all the connections inside are tight, unplug and reseat everything. (there could be a FUBAR mod chip in there that's causing problems - that'd be my guess)

    No luck so far..

I think some data is messed up in it. A power surge probably messed it up as it was turning on..

This one is a September 1999 model, BTW, so i don't have any problems with the CD not loading..

I'm just going to put it up on the shelf until i can get a cleaning CD, then we'll see about that..
