How do you like the Gameboy Player for Gamecube? I love the one that I have, but my wife thinks that I am spending too much on it . It's great to be able to play some old NES games, without having to unhook the Gamecube.

Great but expensive.
great if you have a flash cart to play pocketnes on it.
U GAIZ JUST DONT LIKE CHANGE , (builds a artificial foundation here)
I got mine for $39.00(I think that was the price) on E-Bay, and have been bargan hunting for the games. Like the other day here, I bought 9 of the Classics NES series games for $45.00 shipped. They arrived in complete mint condition.

Does the Gameboy Player for the GC support black and white GB games? Color GB games? What about the often forgotten Super Gameboy games, can it play them with their "Super Gameboy" enhancements such as added colors, borders, etc?
As far as I know, there is no unified Gameboy player, which supports every gameboy game with all of its features. This is mainly because Super Gameboy games included features specific to the Super Gameboy, which were "lost" when Nintendo upgraded to the Gameboy Color. They have remained "lost" with the GBA, GBASP, etc.
In short, don't throw away your Super Gameboy or Super Gameboy 2, if you were lucky enough to get the latter.
Mine has played a varity of games from Gameboy, Gameboy Color and Gameboy Advance. I don't know about the Super Gameboy games(I didn't even know that they had made these )

Hmm....a local Gamecrazy has one for $19.99 used. I might have to pick it up, even though I don't have a GC.
That is a great deal, if it comes with the disk. The one that I bought came with everything but the packaging.

I got one and love it. Spend more time playing GB/GBC/GBA games on the thing than Cube games. Excellent peripheral.
No SGB support in the GBP unfortunately. Only reason I can see that it's never been added to anything is it might have used something inside the SNES itself.Originally Posted by Jagasian

Does anybody have a list of all the Super Game Boy games with enhancements?
The only thing I know is that Metroid 2 looks different on my SP than on my Super Game Boy.
Rarest games in collection: (R8) Chavez II for SNES / (R7) Star Gunner (Telesys) for Atari 2600
Game Collection -- Game Commercials -- Favorite Game: Secret of Mana
Wii code: 2572 7867 9177 9866 Smash: 0259-0110-4026
Yea, the SNES handled the borders and the extra colors. I wish the GBplayer let you pick your colors for the classic GB games like the SGB did though.Originally Posted by mikeetler
I just got mine a couple weeks ago. I traded my lynx for it and don't regret it. I like playing all the Castlevania games on it. I also like that I can play Contra 3(snes), Super Mario Bros.(nes), Phantasy Star(sms) and Phantasy Star 2(genesis) without having any of those systems hooked up.
it lags! aargh.. try speed runs in super mario deluxe.. it just doesnt happen.. lags right when you need to press a button so you miss something and die..
it has all the compatability of a regular gameboy advance. nothing more, nothing less.
Thanks for that link. I have been in gaming from 1980, and this the first that I have heard of this . I also would like to know some of the games that had these enhansments.Originally Posted by Jagasian

Just a few days ago I was thinking of buying one. They seem pretty cool.
The only reason I would get one is because I don't really like playing long games on a handheld. I don't mind playing the odd game of Super Mario Bros. on my GBA, but I want to start playing The Legend of Zelda: Minish Cap.
I think I remember Wal-Mart dropping having a sale of these for $49.99 new a while back. I guess I should have picked one up.
I bought one when it came out......but then my GBA sat collecting dust, so I got rid of the Player. It was cool to be able to play on the TV though. Especially the RPGs and racers. I remember the racers becoming too easy once you had the control of the Cube and could see the screen though.
