I run the Personal Computer Museum in Canada (www.pcmuseum.ca) and we received a call from a lady in SC that is looking for a copy of Oregon Trail on 5.25" disk. I assume it was only made for PC but it doesn't matter---as long as it's on 5.25" disk. If anyone has a copy of this game (as long as it's original) it does NOT have to be working -- she is willing to pay $50 to borrow it. She'll guarantee shipping to and from -- she just needs to borrow it for a week or so.
If you have a copy or know someone who does, please contact me at sbolton@bfree.on.ca and I can give you her contact info. THANKS!

It was made for the Mac too. I picked a complete copy up at a thrift last year for 50 cents, and sold it on eBay for something like $30. Damn, now I wish I had held onto it for a little while longer!

I'd have to raid my parents place but we used to have a copy for the Apple II-EC. Find out what format she actually needs.

The format does NOT matter as long as it's 5.25" disk!! How fast do you think you could find out? I think she needs it by Monday so it would have to be shipped tomorrow (Thursday) or perhaps Friday at the latest (not sure of the deadline)

Any reason she would want a non-working 5.25" disk in any format?

I have a working (last time I tested it), original Apple II disk of Oregon Trail. A couple of them actually. Do you know what she needs it for?

I checked on the one I was talking about... turns out it was a copy. Sorry.

No, the format DOES matter, because if she wants to play the game on the Apple II, a copy of the PC version isn't going to do her any good, even if it's on a 5.25" disk!
(Unless, of course, it's just for a display or something, in which case you'd do just fine with a scan of the diskette label slapped on any 5.25" disk.)

She needs it for a treasure hunt. THE FORMAT DOES NOT MATTER! It just must be a 5.25" disk, that's the only requirement. It does not need to run or work or anything, just be authentic. When I said it didn't matter, I MEANT IT! Thanks!

Anyone got some boots they can lend me, because it's starting to pile up pretty high in this thread.

This is a want thread and should go in the Buying & Selling forum. Go ahead and make one in there. If you can't see it, that's because you haven't met the requirement of being a member for 10 days.
