The local Gamersuh stores are blowing out a lot of their new games and one of them is GTA: Liberty City Stories. I was thinking about picking up a copy in case I ever need one for the PSP downgrade exploit but I don't know how to tell if it's the patched version. Is there any way to tell for a sealed copy? I know they were patched a while ago but since I never see anyone buying new games at Gamerush, I think there might be a chance that they could still have the unpatched ones.

Spine says "SLUS 10041". Is that enough info do I need to look at the barcode & UMD too?

I just checked a few online sites and it doesn't look like it's that much of a deal. They were $20 but I was thinking since they cheaper than usual since there is a big 50% off sale going on there right now. Plus, I haven't bought a PSP game in ages.

Considering how patched copies of LCS are going for $50-$60 on Ebay, I thought now would be a good time to pick up a copy if I could find one in the wild.

You could always sift through that silliness.

I had a bit of trouble getting one myself but finally did.

I read up on the internet about how to tell from the outside packaging. So, I went to GS stores around and finally found one that looked like the original 2.00 update version so I bought it. It was a display copy new but the packaging was supposed to tell you it was the right one. Well, I got it home and it was the 2.6 version.

I got lucky, though. The stupid thing wouldn't load on my system. It would hang after the title screen. So, I brought it back to gamestop and showed them what was happening. I then asked if they had anymore copies and they had 1 used left - no packaging. I said I would try and it and it was a 2.00 copy! In short, I ended up getting it and the nice guy at GS switched out the packaging so I got a new copy's case and manuals for it, too.

There are some of these still out there for sure but it was hard for me to find one. May not be all that hard elsewhere. The stuff on the internet about how to tell from the case if it's 2.00 version didn't help me much :(
