Im thinking about buying a tabletop Playchoice 10. The one im looking at has a woodgrain cabinet. All of the pics ive seen of others show a grey cabinet. Was the woodgrain cabinet an original option on the system or do you guys think the one im looking at has been altered? Im counting on you Playchoice 10 hardcore enthusiasts for some help on this one.

I am pretty sure that is a custom cab that it is in. My PC10 is a stand up but I have looked at a lot of them.

I've never seen a woodgrain one. Pics?

I attached a picture of it with this message. If the cabinet is in fact not original and was altered by an individual do you guys think it decreases its value?

It looks like someone attached new fake woodgrain contact paper to the sides. I've seen this model with woodgrain sides, but it was much more "realistic" fake woodgrain than this one appears to be.

In this case, no, the woody contact paper (or whatever it is) doesn't decrease the value. If you like it, can afford it, and are willing to pay the asking price, just go for it. :)

I disagree...if its just woody contact paper then it looks like it was done really well...just look at the edges..they look pretty clean. Does anyone out there ever seen one like this or know if they came factory like this as an option?

I guess it's your preogative to disagree, but I'm 99.999% certain that's not the original woodgrain on the sides. It's extremely easy to apply new woodgrain and trim off the excess to fit. Not that it ought to stop you from buying it if you have your heart set on it. :)

I'm gonna go with AA here. Contact paper is extremely easy to apply and look professional, which is why so many people use it :) However, just like he said, if you want it, go for it! I actually prefer the woodgrain look to the gray anyway. How much does the person want for it?
