My return to gaming.

When I was growing up my older brother and I had video games. We had a pong system and then later an Atari 2600. Of course, since we didn't have much money it was long after everyone else had them. As I got older, I didn't pay much attention to video games. My younger brother and sister got an NES that I would occasionally play but that was about it.

Things changed when I got married. My wife had a young son from her first marriage and therefore I needed some common ground with him in order to build up a relationship. One thing that he was into was his Sega Genesis. On the weekends that he would visit, he would bring a duffle bag packed with his system and games. I ended up buying an SNES since he had a Genesis and this way we could play more games. Eventually, I bought a Genesis also so that he could leave his at home. Over time we bonded due to our time playing games together and have developed almost an older brother younger/brother relationship. Since he was into all things Sega he got the Saturn and Dreamcast, while I went after the PlayStation.

As the years have gone by, I have developed more of an interest in games and have begun collecting some, while his has kind of waned due lack of time and other interests. In fact, when he decided to get rid of his game collection, I bought as many of them from him as I could afford, but unfortunately had to let some go. To this day, we still talk about games and where they are headed and occasionally play a couple games together with the eventual hope of putting a game room somewhere.
