Hi there!

I was thinking: when you buy a new homebrew game for a classic system, do you prefer it follows the artwork and layout used by some classic maker or would you prefer something new and fresh?

For example, the new Polo release features the red packaging used by Atari in the late 80's. In other hand, Manuel Polik's Gunfight uses a completely original artwork that doesn't follow any previous classic "standard".

Comments, suggestions?

I like it best when they follow a previous deisgn template.

But that's just cause I'm anal about consistency.

Hell, I only collect Genesis Games that came in the black grid box style!!!
Even as a kid, I'd only keep the Black grid boxes up on my shelf for display, third party games (especially Arena, Flying Edge, etc...) would get tucked into the back.

If I were to make a Home Brew Atari Game, I would DEIFINITELY fashion the box art/cart label after the First Generation Picture Labels by Atari. I love that design.

i also like it better when an older template is followed.

I like the old style templates with new art myself. Adds to the nostalga factor of the homebrews.
