Hello Everyone
I own alot of older game consoles but never an Odyssey. A few days ago, I finally picked one up with original box, manual, and so on (this is the original odyssey not odyssey 2). Can someone please tell me what part I need to make it work on a new style tv? It has the weirdest connector I have ever seen.
Thank you

I hope that you got the switch box that is supposed to come with the odyssey. It's a big brown looking box. If you ain't got one of those then you are in trouble, my friend. I don't think they make any more like these and the video cable looks more female than male. I've never seen one in the wild so try ?ebay?

I didnt get the switch box. I knew about it but I just couldn't find one. Thats why I was wondering if I can get some type of adapter for it. I just bought a second odyssey from ebay complete with box and all but it doesnt have a switch box. I thought it was a good deal at $50 shipped. I paid a little more for my first one as it had 6 boxed games and cart 8.

As far as I know there is no other way to get this working on a tv w/o the switchbox. When I first got my odyssey it didn't come with one. In desperation, I tried to use a regular switch box. There was a lot of fuzz, but there was a picture. I even went to radioshack and either they didn't have anything or they didn't know what I was talking about. I eventually found someone who had a spare switchbox. That's how I got mine. Good Luck!

I feel your pain! My first Odyssey came without its switch box.
Here's whatcha do.
Shop for an Odyssey 100, 200, 300 or 400. I'm guessing about the 200 and 300 but the 100 and the 400s I bought both came with TV hookups with which the original Odyssey was compatible. Hmm, now that I think about it, I'd have to check my 400 to be certain, but I'm positive the 100's hookup was compatible.
On eBay at the moment, I'm only seeing 300s which I can't verify as being compatible. Is there anyone out there with an Odyssey 300 that can verify a non-standard RCA TV hookup?

Well, I checked but all I found was 300's. I think the Odyssey 300 uses a standard coaxial if Im not mistaken. Ill check the swap shop tomorrow. After all, I got a vectrex with 4 games for $40 last time :)
