I' currently playing Zelda:WW. NOw on windfall island there is a place where you play a kind of mine-sweepish game. Well it got me thinking, at one time a game like that was a $40 worthy title.
So at what point did games like mine-sweep and Pac-man and space invaders become known as mini-games?

That's Battleship! actually. I think when Mario All-Star's came out.. Here were several high dollar and fun games on one cart.. The "Bonus" game was SMB 2-JAP

Check out Made in Wario (for GBA). THEN you'll see EVERYTHING made into a minigame.. Even F-Zero, Zelda and Punchout! :) And lots of other types of games including a pacmanish type game, space shooters, Game & Watch, Cellphone games, etc. (w/ appropriate GB, SNES, or whatever graphics) convienently made into 2 second minigames.
I think for the U.S. release it will be called Wario Ware however.... and I suspect it might be censored as well..

Wow. I just checked out Wario Ware and I have a feeling this will be the first time I buy a game on release date.... ever! I was interested at first but decided I had to have this game when I read about the Virtual Boy mini-game! Yowza!
So, what do you think would be censored?
Oh, and sorry to hiack your thread brandver :embarrassed:

Sly Cooper has this in it too. There is a robotron type mini game and a crossbow sort of mini game.
It breaks up the gameplay and works well.

@Keir to the nth power. Like there's this section where you're running from the cops and are throwing bananas at them to knock their cars out. I'm pretty sure that will be frowned on in the U.S. :P
Then there's some mini games like a bidet stage where a guys trying to take a crap, or Wario ordering a Beer. Then there's this one Samurai stage where it's entirely in japanese and shows a lady tied up hanging from the ceiling.. even the background song is some kind of somber lady singing in Jap (great sound effects btw).. So who knows if they'll keep all this stuff or not. We'll see. :)
