So I jumped on the buy GH2 get 1600 MS points deal a while back. So someone was looking for a code and I sold it. I went home to scratch it off and send the guy the code.
so after I was done scratching I noticed something was wrong

The Code was gone!
I'm like what the hell?
so a call to xbox support to see if anything was done (which had an amazingly short wait), needless to say the rep says nothing can be done and I should seek a refund or exchange(yeah I doubt Circuit City will gladly exchange this).
still lesson learned.

Man you scratched the hell outta that card. I always scratch the cards lightly so this doesnt happen.

This is why I always buy points, minutes, whatever it is online, or through the console.
Though it was a special deal so I understand. Can't believe it would be that lightly printed on there. Though I do see it as being highly probable. Still, exactly why I don't trust these cards.

This happened to me quite a while back. I bought a points card at Circuit City, then I took it home and managed to scratch the numbers off. I called support and they gave me a ticket number and told me to return the card to Circuit City for an exchange. In my case, I was returning the card the same night, and I got a replacement card which I was much more careful in scratching the gunk off.

People, it's not a lottery ticket. Be gentle, treat it like a fine classy lady not some tramp.

I just now noticed that.
Time to rethink having that quad-shot cappuccino for lunch everyday.

What did you use to scratch it, a belt sander!?!?!?
I always buy my points (360 and Wii) online. Simple convenience, really. :-)

I've had this happen before. You have a couple options...
1. Know anyone at an EB? If you do, go there. They can just send the bad card back defective.
2. Pull the swap trick. Go to Walmart, buy a card. Go to the parking lot. Put your bad card in the package. Walk back in with your receipt and complain and explain the problem. Walmart will happily give you another card.
Hope that helps!!

I did the same thing with my first points card...luckily Best Buy was aware of people doing that, and exchanged it no problem.

Those cards are really easy to scratch the numbers off of. I was using a nickel and applying light pressure and I still scratched the numbers off mine.
Considering they don't seem to want to print the cards in such a way that it can withstand a mild scratch, they should use the peel back cards which come with the hard drive special offers instead.
