I won't have pictures until the end of the month, but I picked up the last 2 GBA games I needed for a complete Game Boy collection encompassing all systems.

Now onto the last few Euro exclusives and 3-4 GBA Videos!

Thanks!

I am still trying to complete Game Gear which I only need 4 boxes for, and finishing up boxes for SNES, Coleco, Genesis, all which I need less than 4 for each.

I will be definitely concentrating on GameCube and Xbox afterwards, which I have a huge headstart on. I think I only need around 70 Xbox games, and 120-140 or so GameCube games....Wii and DS I have been keeping up with, but PS2/PS1/PSP/PS3 I only wanted to collect exclusive titles for, so I won't get past the mid hundreds for each of those eventually.

Does this mean no more GBA titles to be released in North America or you'll just pick up any future titles as they come out? How many GBA games total btw?

DreamTR
05-05-2007, 11:06 PM
Bratwurst: I'll be picking up the remaining ones slated to come out as they do...there are around 6-8 or so for release that I know of so far, but I am sure by X-Mas there will be more.

I don't have an exact number since everything is packaged up for the move, but I definitely know it's over 900 games...

I suspected it might be around 800-1000.. one of my favorite handhelds ever. One last visit to the 16-bit design philosophy.

Dream, what were the hardest titles to acquire for each of the three platforms if you don't mind me asking?

Due to the nature of Gameboy games/boxes, this may be the most impressive complete collection a person could aquire.

Everyone's in awe, but I just feel sorry for you.

I'm sorry you had to spend money on such horrible things like the GBA Video carts, and all those crappy games that should've never been released in the first place.

Other than that, congrats.

joedick: I had to search for the Game Boy (original) stuff in the past few years, and it was not fun.

Also, in terms of the most "difficult" games to find, it's actually the BOXES for each system that are the toughest to find, not the games.

Game Boy Color really only has a couple of tough to find boxes, one of them being International Rally by Konami.

Game Boy Advance has some weird variants, including a GIANT box for Nickelodeon Party Pak (4 in 1) that was just released that I have not seen in stores, but may be available in Costco that I acquired from THQ's company store.

I'm sure things like Bratz BABIES will be tough to find eventually because that was a Toys R US release no one saw, Pocket Professor I, which is only sold online, the late release 03 Entertainment games will be tough to find eventually, but Frogger the Grest Quest and Little League Baseball 2002 are royally tough to find boxes for.

Games listed on Nintendo's site, but not released in USA for GBA: Invader, and Black Belt Challenge

For GBC there are a few, including Robocop.

GB boxes that are really, really tough:
Blaster Master Boy
Spud's Adventure
Amaz'n Tater (if you don't know where to look)
Mr. Do! (the US version)
Fish Dude (good luck with this one)
Captain America (the last box I needed)

Do you have the other 2-3? There are other giant boxes that THQ released as well.

GAC: What games also had those big boxes and where did you see them? Those are variants that would be interesting to have.

TOm: I am strictly talking North American releases, not UK stuff, but since you mentioned, those ROcket games GBC releases were also released out here by Interact (GameShark back in the day) and I do have all of them from when they sent them to the magazine I used to work for.

Sams Club had them. I know one is a GT Racing game 4-pack, I can't remember any others so you will have to ask him or Drexel.

Jason,

The three Big Boxes I have are:

1.) Nicktoons: Freeze Frame Frenzy, Fairly Oddparents: Shadow Showdown, Rocket Power: Zero Gravity, and Sponge Bob: Super Sponge

2.) GT Advance, GT Advance 2, GT Advance 3, and Moto GP

3.) Sponge Bob: The Movie, Hey Arnold! The Movie, Wild Thornberries The Movie, and Jimmy Neutron Boy Genius.

EDIT: I received them as a Christmas Present. But I believe they came from a Sam's Club type place.

got it, so you're not interested in Europe-only or Japan-only releases, just USA completion for GB/GBC/GBA

GrandAm: Thanks, I will check for those

Tom: I am interested in Euro Exclusives but I don't have all of them right now, just a really good amount for GB and GBC, those were unlicensed but like I said before, Interact did release them here in some form.

Definitely not going for Japanese, most of my collections concentrate on complete North American released games and not as much in the overseas realm unless it is Famicom.

SPud's and Tater were made by Atlus, but that would be funny if a potato company made 'em!

Minimum quality I would accept for a box? As long as it was not ripped or torn, basically. I'm not too picky with boxes because I am eventually going to use the games, etc, but the majority of my boxes are in excellent/mint shape anyway.

Goddman, bro, can't wait to see the pics! You get a new camera yet!? ;-)

Soooo, do you have the complete Singer sewing machine cart, with sewing machine? I have the instructions, but that's it. It's a big ass GB instruction book (magazine size)...cost me $15. The company probably still sells the books, though they don't sell the cart.

You're right to do so, because Japanese one is incredibly hard to collect, more than 3500 games :)

DreamTR

rbudrick: just the cart. You can still find the whole setup online for $400+ though. No way I would have the sewing machine! And yes, I did get a better digital camera. I actually have to make 100% certain I still have the cart. I did a long time ago, but since it was never with a box, I placed it somewhere else!

I don't know how much room this takes because it is all packed away in file boxes for the movers to come tomorrow. It should be quite interesting looking once it's all setup. I'll have it ready at the end of May.

Adol: I just don't have interest in collecting Japanese Game Boy games. Famicom yes, but Game Boy only US and Euro interest me. I know a complete Japanese Game Boy collection would be crazy difficult, though.

This totals up around 1800+ boxed GB/GBC/GBA games...

Hounder: I had loose NES completed about 7 or so years ago, but boxes/manuals I completed just the other day. Last things I needed were a Stadium Events box/manual, and a Pro Sport Hockey box.

There's just something about original gameboy games, boxed, that have this mystique...

DreamTR

Who the heck is Justin?

Anyways, some of my stuff is on photobucket, but I had to triple back the shelves with games because of the lack of room. Some of the pics are pretty old, but there's no way you can really get a gauge of the amount of boxed crap because of how well I pack everything in.

Jason, for your GB/GBC/GBA collection, did you get the Singer sewing cart and the sewing machine for it? It's not complete unless you did! ;) lolz

I have the instruction book for it. It's magazine sized, iirc and Singer's website sold it to me for $15 or so back in 2003, but I don't think they sell it any more.

That is amazing. How did you track all the new games as they came out? Is there a reliable source for that kinda stuff before the games actually come out?(title/release date/company)

Also, do you have plans(or dreams) to one day to get a place big enough to display everything?
