anybody else luck out and be at a funcoland at the right time and come away with some good freebies, all because of there sometimes weird policies?
Example... Ive hit the jackpot twice lately there,

ONE, I was lookin for a NES power pad in decent shape, didnt see one, so just asked the manager, she said there not allowed to sell them because half the time they dont work, and the always just throw them away. (usually funcoland response ive noticed, ha) anyway, she said she remember seeing one in the back that was to be thrown out , and if it was still there i could have it. Well damn if it wasnt immaculate and in perfect working order! So i lucked out there!

TWO, was recently lookin for a genesis 3 system, and the lady said they had gotten one in about a week earlier, but it couldnt be sold, because they had no hookups or power pak for it, therefore, as with all other funco responses, it was to be thrown out. I asked jokingly if i could just have it, and to my shock, she handed it too me, along with madden 94, (which she added they could no longer accept). So again, majorly lucked out there, just had to get the cords for it.

I love funcoland now! I seem to get freebies, and the manager is just simply HOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (her big hooters dont hurt the situation either) =)

Well, not at Funcoland, but a branch of it, Gamestop, I was browsing their poor selection of NES games, minding my own buisness, when a man walked in with a box with a Sega Saturn, and 10 games, granted, these games were all poo games (sports, Bugz, ect.) but they were all complete.

Anyways, he tried to sell them, and they told him they don't buy those systems, and me being in the right place at the right time, asked if I could get them all for the $10 I had left in my pocket, so he sold them to me!! :D

A while back, I was browsing when some guy came in a local funcoland trying to unload a Genesis, 32x, and SCD (all in their boxes with all connections, manuals, etc.) with a pile of games. The store wouldn't take any of it...I ended up paying him $20 for the lot out in the parking lot.

At one of the local Gamestops, a guy sold me an incomplete toaster NES and SNES 2 for $6.00. The only missing items were the AC adapters, and both worked fine.

He threw in loose Super Tecmo Bowl and Zelda 3 carts because he said he'd rather see them go to someone who would actually play them!

I also bought a boxed World Series Baseball for Game Gear from a guy there once!

I got several back issues of the Official PSX Mag because they just throw out any issues they don't sell. The mag isn't that great, but I got 3 demo discs for free. Whoo hoo.
