You know the last boss of Gradius II? He says something with the FC's shitty human voice simulation. What's he say? I've never been able to make it out. Yeah, I know it's probably in Japanese, but whatever. Anyone know?

It's saying "Shield", "Missile", "Option", "Laser", etc, etc, but really slowly.

Believe it! I have a Japanese games video that speeds up the final boss' speech and that's what it's saying.

Whoa...crazy. Thanks! Any link, Chris?

All youhave to do is get past the first level, any you have it made...much like any Gradius game. If you can grab every power up in the first stage, you'll find the levels after that much easier (DON'T DIE...it's really hard to get them back). I find that many Gradius games can be beaten on one life if you play your cards right in the first level.

Heh, when I wrote video, I meant video the old-fashioned way: on VHS tapes.

Oh, I have lots of tapes with lots of goodies... but no decent video capture box to transfer them.

Some of the more interesting things are of course (semi-)early footage of games in development, footage of unreleased games, like Famicom Strider and Legend of Hero Tonma, and some very funny Super Famicom & PC-Engine quiz shows, with representatives from a few game companies making fools of themselves.

Well, once you get a video capture card, Youtube them sumbitches, heh heh!

You know, I never realized you didn't post here much, but now that I think of it I've never really seen you on DP before (but assumed you had regularly), which kind of surprises me considering I've seen you (or rather, your name associated with various projects and such) all around the web for years.

Anyway, good seeing ya here.

hmm

just recently I picked up a vhs/dvd recorder that transfers vhs to dvd (or the revesere) if you like I could copy those tapes for you and transfer them to dvd (and consequently rip them) and throw em up online if you like.

i've plans to do the same with all my gameplayer's tapes as well as those nintendo promo tapes they sent out for a number of years.
