the buttons fitted through the holes perfectly, we all expected they would though right :) the main problem is the piece of rubber backing which sends the feedback was a bit thick and needed cutting to allow the buttons to sit right.
also i know the buttons could be in a better order but i did this late at night and is only a first attempt. X should definitely be with X and triangle with A,
B will probably be O and square will end up with Y. shame the order would look more attractive with triangle, circle, cross, square.

Nice! It would definitely look better if the buttons were arranged they are on the PS controller. Have you tried playing a game with it yet?

I still to this day accidentally call the PlayStation buttons by the SNES names. It must be hardwired into my brain or something. A conversation usually goes something like this when my boyfriend or somebody is playing PS1/PS2:
person playing - "What do I press to do so-and-so?"
me - "Just push A."
him - "A?"
me - "Dammit, you know what I mean!"

I am just now after 12 years, memorizing the difference between circle and square on the PS controller.

Now if you could only mod it to include the analog sticks, you'd have the SNES dualshock! :)

This is pretty technical, so away she goes.
Nice job by the way, pretty nifty.

You should've put SNES buttons in a dual shock, but killing a perfectly awesome SNES controller to do so is blasphemy.
problem is the snes buttons are a lot shallower and dont actually stick out through the dualshock casing, with some modification it might :P

Just a quick thought - perhaps using the oversized rubber backings from the dualshock with the snes buttons to get them to fit in the dualshock. Probably not, and I haven't seen it to really be of any help but based on your statements of cutting down the rubber to fit the dualshock buttons in the snes, maybe the opposite will work for the dualshock.
It would be really hot if you could somehow fit an entire SNES controller in a PS controller (possibly those pre-dual shock since the analog sticks would be useless anyway) with the R1 L1's serving as the R and L ... Plugging in a PS controller into an SNES would be pretty spiffy.
