I kinda was hoping for more like a mission pack, and extra island or something.....
Meh.

Also, take one step back and check out the Free for All pack. It's free and it seems to cover a lot of the holes people pointed out in the game. I'll do that before I give them another $10 for this game.
Don't get me wrong, I like the game and all, but I don't want to spend another $10 for content I'm not going to use if no one else downloads it.

I've been looking forward to this content, but am a little disappointed that there are no additional missions. Without a doubt, Crackdown is one of the best games released this year...but it's too damned short. It doesn't seem like adding extra races, vehicles, and weapons will extend the gametime all that much. Give us a new island or gang!
I'm still buying this though. And yes, I realize that makes me part of the problem (with this new d/c mentality developers now have).

So lemmie get something straight - you have to download this pack to get the omitted 100 achievement points from the main game?
Pretty sneaky, MS....

Actually, if I'm reading the descriptions right, the free pack should fill out that extra 100 points, but the 350 they are touting is what you have to pay for.

www.majornelson.com (http://www.majornelson.com) has a pretty detailed listing of the new features (both paid and free content). I'm wondering how good this "enhanced" orb sensing works. I only have 19 or so hidden orbs to go. This new content should be up later today.

For once I'm excited about download content, I'm getting all of these packs.

This all sounds pretty damn nice. I am NOT going to complain about 800 points for all that. Even the free pack alone sounds great...

I downloaded both content packs (+ the required game update) this morning. The main thing I was curious about right off the bat was the new "enhanced" orb sensing. I can say without a doubt...it is definitely enhanced. Instead of hearing a sound when you get 3-5 away from an orb...it's now more like 30-40 feet. I don't think I'll have any trouble locating the remaining orbs with this new feature. I had 19 orbs left and found 7 in just 20 minutes this morning.

Folks - if you download this - unless you want to start all over again, don't reset the gangs unless you've got all the icons and your character is fully upgraded.
Supposedly, it's completely deleting alot of peoples progress.

That problem has been at least partially resolved, but until they're fully resolved here's how you get around this happening, as posted on the official Crackdown site:
We are aware that the recently released “Crackdown” DLC is causing some gamers to experience a reset of their saved games when they engage in co-op play. The team is working extremely hard to identify the issue and has provided steps to avoid the problem.
Simply follow these instructions:
1. Sign-in to Xbox Live
2. Start Crackdown and receive new Title Update (if you haven’t already)
3. Begin a Single Player Campaign game
4. Once loaded, press Start and choose “Quit”
5. Reboot Crackdown (soft reboot or hard reboot of console)
By following the steps above, this will ensure that your Crackdown experience will be trouble-free. You will then be able to enjoy the new title update features, the “Free-For-All” DLC pack, as well as all the goodies found in the “Getting’ Busy Bonus Pack”.
For more details on the contents of the title update, and both the free and premium downloadable content, please visit: http://crackdownoncrime.com/News/DLC+Fact+Sheet.htm
A permanent solution will be released with the game’s next Title Update, which will be available in the very near future. NOTE: Unfortunately these steps will not restore an old saved file. There is no workaround for this. If this changes, we will post additional information in these forums in the future. We sympathize with those who may have lost their saved files. This was an unforeseen incident and the team has worked diligently to find a solution in the shortest amount of time possible.

This happened to me too. Thank god I bought a memory unit and had my save backed up. I had all of the achievements pre-DLC, but I still would have been mad to lose my save...

Is this game worth the hype? I`m interested in it, but don`t want to fork out $60 for it. The demo didn`t do much for me, but I like GTA type games.

Meh, I have plenty of other stuff to play. I'll wait for the bug fix rather than risk my progress. I don't have the time to restart this.

It's really not a GTA clone. I consider it more of a platformer. It's a sandbox game, yes. But it's more focused on the action and exploration than just roaming around a city, picking up hookers and killing cops. The orb feature is excellent. It plays out better in the real game, than it does the demo.
I love this game, personally. It's one of my game of the year contenders, at the present moment. And the only game I see topping this would be Halo 3.

Hard to say.
With GTA I would just play for hours after I had finished off the game driving about and doing all kinds of random shit. I'm doing that now in Crackdown (purely for achievements), but am not enjoying it nearly as much. I think a big part of the problem is the feeling that the driving is really broken. Be it the cars all handling for shit or that you get punished for every little mowing down of citizens when your still stat building. Most of the criminals stay near the sidewalk (or are on the sidewalk) and since there are always so many pedestrians about your mowing them down like crazy. Sure you can honk your horn to send them running, but even the slightest car tap is an instant death for them so your pretty screwed most of the time.

I downloaded the Free for All pack earlier today and decided to try it out but I couldnt. I got a message saying the download file was corrupt. Wondering if I should try to download it again or just wait.

Does anyone know for sure if the update(s) that unlocked the Halo 3 beta fixed the gang reset bug? I'm 14 agility icons away from getting them all, and I don't want to have to start over.

The update only deleted your save file if you followed a very specific sequence of events.
The "gang reset" bug only took effect if you downloaded the original update, clicked on "resurrect gangs" and immediately played co-op. This was a one shot deal and you would already know if your save was deleted. If you've saved your game since downloading the update, you're in the clear. Read it for yourself: http://crackdownoncrime.com/News/From+the+Forums.htm
Wow, is the original "ambient crime" option gone, in favor of "reset gangs?" Or am I just missing it?
Those are two completely different things. I've already beaten the bosses and don't want to reset the whole storyline, but I still need an occasional street thug to play with for some of the achievements.

I'm not finding the ambient crime option either. I quite enjoyed that so I'm annoyed that it's gone.
Another thing pissing me off is the free for all pack. I just downloaded and started using it. All of a suddent I started noticing all these different colored markers, it's all the stuff I could have if I bought the additional bonus pack. It actually made it harder for me to find my remaining rooftop races because apparently more have been added. Now I don't mind shit like this in a shareware product, but in a game I already paid full retail price for? That's some serious bullshit.
