Since you seem to especially like music games, you might want to check out Nodame Cantabile. It's more story-driven than most music games, but the story is totally separate form the gameplay and not reading won't hurt your enjoyment of the gameplay at all. It seems to get compared to Ouendan by almost everyone, but I don't really see any similarities aside from the fact that both are musicgames that rely on the touchscreen. Unlike most music games, Nodame Cantabile uses classical music and it's also very easy, but I find it relaxing and enjoyable and satisfying in that way that rhythm games often are.
Here's a flash minigame that gives you asample of what the main gameplay mode in Nodame Cantabile is like:

There's also a couple other gameplay modes including one based on Taiko Drum Master (but again, using classical music), but most of the game plays out like the flash game, except it's a lot better using the stylus instead of a mouse.
...word is bondage...

Since you like Band Brothers, you should give the expansion pack "Request Selection" a look if you haven't yet.

Outside of rhythm games, the obvious answer would be Jump Super Stars and Jump Ultimate Stars. If you like either Smash Bros. or anime/manga, you'll probably love either one. You'll probably need to use a guide for a few of the missions, but it's all pretty straightforward and there's an insane amount of unlockables.
Also they're easily the most competent Smash Bros. clones out there. Online play in the second one is also a bonus!
