I was thinking of buying a sealed copy of Contra 3 for the SNES, my copy is pretty beat up in terms of the box and manual. I know that Majesco reprinted the manual for it, is there any way just by looking at the box (since its sealed) to know if the game was a reprint version? I hate the black and white manuals that the reprints come with.
NOTE: I know that there is another thread about this however I didn't see anything mentioned about IDing by the box. I assume you can't but just want to make sure.

On the ones I have seen, the copyright dates are different in the lower right hand corner of the back of the box, and I believe it says Majesco down there somewhere.
At least I believe it is such, on my Majesco Castlevania 4.

On the carts themselves its easy to tell, they don't have glossy labels and no sticker disclaimer on the back, molded plastic.

Don't know if this is the thread you were thinking of (and there is a reply about the box in there), but it has a lot of information in it:

The screenshots on the back are also pretty bad quality if I remember correctly.

Yeah a friend of mine noticed my Majesco release box for Super Battleship for SNES had the screenshots upside down.
