Sorry if this has been posted before, but I saw a pre-owned copy of Growlanser Generations at Gamestop a week ago, and I'm trying to find out if there is a standard edition of this game and what would come with it. I already own a sealed GG Deluxe box, but I don't want to open it, and I would like to buy this stand-alone one to play assuming that it just comes with the manual. Any help would be appreciated.

Yeah, 2 versions were released. Standard (game only) and deluxe. I was actually disappointed in the game.

Thanks for replying. The only used copy within a 50 mile radius is near me, so I wanted to pick it up this afternoon.

Just like every other game Working Designs has released, there are disc variants. The standard edition's art on the discs are complete different from the collector's set. I tried to find pictures, but all I can find are the standard edition discs art on ebay.

The standard edition just includes the 2 games in a double disc case and the manual. The manual is pretty thick and the case is have a hard time to close. I can't know about disc variations on Growlanser Generations as my Deluxe pack is sealed.

So if your are to pick this up. All you need is the manual and both discs in a double PS2 case.

If you're going to pick this up simply based on 'rarity', don't.

If you're an RPG person and want for the collection, then by all means.

QFT. For a while I was seeing these all over the place, though I understand it's been discontinued. It's not really rare at all.

And as for the game, the gameplay is really nicely done (I think so, anyway), but the storyline is... well, the storyLINES are just kinda dry. No really juicy parts to them.
