Wii

N64

Which do you think is the better party system? I havent played a Wii but everyone says it's the best system to play with a group of friends, but can it possible beat the N64-the system that gave us 4 player Goldeneye???? What do you think?

If my friends came over and I offered them a choice of playing Golden Eye on the N64 or anything that's part of Wii Sports or Wii Play, they'd choose the Wii anyday.

well, the n64 does have bomberman 64!!!!!

Till the day Wii has a bomberman title, I'm going to still with n64 multiplayer.
It seems theres a lot of decent 1player games for the Wii right now...zelda, paper mario...etc.
hmm.

Granted the wii multiplayer on games such as ulltimate alliance and rampage kicks ass but to me it just seems like if your not playing in a big open room someone always gets hit. that an the N64 just plain kicks ass i mean rage wars mario kart goldeneye not to mention the othe great ones that i just cant think of right now

4 player Goldeneye > Well, there isn't really anything close is there....

Considering there's Smash Bros, Mario Kart and Mario Party available on both machines, the N64 wins due to the legendary 007. I also remember having multi-player on Starfox 64; that was pretty cool.

LOL
I was at a bar last night and apparently Wednesday nights are "N64 night." They have 2 games for the evening: Goldeneye and Mario Kart.

N64 > Wii for party system.
1) N64 has far more multi-player games at the moment.
2) N64 has a larger variety of "party" games.
3) N64 brings that nostalgia value.
4) Next in line would be the GameCube or NDS, not Wii. :p

I'm not a Wii hater, just I have 2 friends now that own them and each time we've had some party going on with it the night ends earlier than those with other consoles. Once again, more than likely dealing with the selection.

Wii can play Gamecube games. Combine that with the multiplayer Wii titles plus some great multiplayer on VC, and N64 is left in the dust.

I voted for Wii, I am not much in to first person shooters and neither are a lot of my friends.

I have played more Wii Sports/Play than I have for any other 64 games(other than Mario Partys)

And soon Wii will have Mario Party, I can also play Wario Ware and Mario Partys for Gamecube on Wii and Gunstar Heroes and some other VC titles.

So I vote Wii

I'll openly admit my awnser is biased.

The Wii, hands down.

I just never found any redeeming qualities to the N64. The games couldn't even help.

At the moment, definitely the N64. N64 is legendary for its multiplayer games, particularly Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Mario Kart, Smash Bros, THQ's Wrestling title (especially No Mercy.....greatest wrestling game ever made) and Mario Party. There were other less appreciated games with great multiplayer as well, like Bomberman 64.

The Nintendo 64 came with 4 controller ports, a major feature. The console was most people's first experience with more than two player support. It was revolutionary....The XBOX 360, which came out years later, doesn't support four player offline play for any games I know of. Its online play is great, but when my friends come over we can't all play, and that sucks. Besides, while online can be awesome, nothing beats playing with three of your buds in the same room.

The Wii is a great system, but its still brand new. Many people who want one still can't even find one. As far as multiplayer, Wii has Wii Sports, Warioware, and not much else worth mentioning. But with Mario Party coming out this month and Smash Bros coming later this year, the future is looking bright for Nintendo's shiny white machine.

Some people are putting a lean on the Wii because it plays GC games. I own a GameCube and can play them without a Wii so I have no reason to buy a Wii to play those GC party titles. I guess what I'm getting at is why list them when apparently the Wii just doesn't have many "party" titles at the moment devoted to its controller configurations? Even more so why are we comparing something that's been out for several months against something that has run its life?

Kobe Bryant's NBA Courtside on the N64. I remember a fair few sessions on this one too, come to think of it. It's the only Basket Ball game I've ever really got to grips with.

N64 wins. Again.

As of right now I would have to say the n64 just because of titles and amount of them. In a few more months, or whenever a couple more party games come out, the wii will dominate the n64. It just needs some titles to be released for party people.

N64 was the defacto multiplayer system of it's time. Which makes picking the better extreamly difficult at this point. Now it's apples and oranges, comparing a console that has run it's course against a still-very-new one. I'll say this however, the Wii has the potential to completely thwamp the N64, both in quality of library (not so tough) and multiplayer (the true test).

The N64 duh. It has many games on it that was duh four player cmpadable. Take the most crappiest game in 3d and put run it on a N64 with Muliplayer Presto the N64 is the true party system.

Since the System is prety much emulated you can play all those game Via network play.

My favorite was South Park since the 3d was simple and the characters was so darn good. Crappy FPS adventure mode but greay mulitplay.

Then Perfect Dark also took my breath away. I mean omgsh this game was wow in mulitplay even alone.

Bomberman N64 where they lit people on fire.

Even Mario Party had it's cool themes. Still I dislike it.

The N64 was so great when you had many people to play games instead of only one person. The only other thing that they had was Wrestle Mania with four players at once.

Smash Brother omgsh..........:bawling: GCN Smash brothers is probably the only Smash that is not networked yet.

Diddy KOng Racing had Three diffrent ways to race.

That was the real strength of the N64 unlike the PSX where they had al our SNES favorites and Saturn doing it's thing. The N64 was a paty machine while dishing out the regular stuff.

Also with golden eye you hold the controller and it vibraters like a real gun with the V brate pack.

The Wii hasn't been out long enough. Ask this question again in about 3 years!
