I am new to MAME...just downloaded it for the first time...
I have MAME32 v.0.90 for windows, and i need to know if there is a better or more updated version of it ?
Also, how in the bloody hell do i get a controller to work on this thing ? All other EMU's that i have used have been easy to set up w/USB controller imput, but i am stumped here... :(
Any help/feedback will be appreciated...
Thx,
Chu

The latest version of MAME32 is 0.115a. You can download it hizzere:

As for setting up your controller, start up a game and then hit the Tab button while in-game. This should bring up the in-game menu. From there, it should be self-explanatory. Also, make sure that you have the joystick option checked in the MAME32 Preferences (in the main GUI).

Got it! Thank you... :)
Only one more problem...some of the ROMs are loading wierd and making the picture lay on it's side. Like "top of arcade game = left side of screen"...
That's the only prob left that i'm having and i'm good to go...

Not exactly sure what you mean, but with the games that have that problem, right click on the game name and go to Properties. Go to Video Options, and select "Flip screen 90 degrees right" (or left, depending on which side the screen is laying on). That should do the trick.

If you are using MAME32 in 'Default Game Options' there is a 'Display' tab that has a rotation selection. Mine is set for Default. Yours may be set for None which is causing the rotation. Playing with that setting should fix it. If not, you can always set it per game as Gapporin suggested. Not sure if you can rotate it in game through the Tab key as I have never had to do that.

Hmmm...okay the 90 degree thing is'nt working for me. And neiter are any options in the TAB menu...
But now i'm choosing to play them in a frame instead of full screen and they work fine... :| Odd...

I ran into the same issue on my laptop, the exact same settings are on my desktop and have no problem with screen rotation....
Still have not solved it yet.... and it runs fine in a window, just not in fullscreen mode.
