Well, I REALLY would like Sony to release the GPS here in the USA(with software support), so I can enjoy some of the creative benefits a GPS\PSP unit can bring (that SEGA star gazing program looks NICE!). It seems like Sony is leaving me out in the cold for some time to come. I have given up on getting home brew applications on my PSP due to the danger of hurting my system, so I am now going to give my DS a try. I currently have one of those M3 flash cards (with Pass Card) and it has been VERY easy to get NES games to run on my DS through this. This made me think that with all of the ports, wifi, and easy ability to crack, is there any third party company working on a GPS solution for the DS? It would be a nice add-on for the already flexible system.

People have been using Natrium42's DSerial device with certain GPS receivers. I'm not sure if there's any released software that allows end users to take advantage of GPS through the DSerial card, though.

Take a look at Natrium's site, though. The DSerial device is pretty cool.
