MLB 07: The Show PS3

Anyone else besides me picking this up on Wednesday? I've been a huge fan of the MLB series from Sony since I played last year's game on PS2. Not only did the game feel great play-wise, but it also had a phenomenal franchise mode and above average visuals.

After trying for two months to acclimate to 2K7's gameplay, I'm crossing my fingers for The Show on PS3. Many people are already complaining about the "sub-par" graphics before it even hits shelves. No, it probably won't look as good as 2K7--but if it plays like the PS2 games (and in HD) I'm rearing to go.

Considering the huge strides The Show made in the last few years and the extra months of PS3 polish, this could be a great PS3 exclusive.

if I had my PS3 and didn't return it I would get this, I am having a blast with the PSP version, but I still like the 2k series, both games are great, and have their short commings, but like I said I am curious to see how this will play on the ps3.. so far the graphics, don't look ps3-ish, but we will see.

You do realize that the The Show on PS3 got higher scores than 2k on both 360 and PS3, right? Outside of the review from 1up (which is just a terribly written review outside of the score) the people who have played it extensively on Neogaf and Operation Sports love it.

If you're a big-time graphics whore, I would recommend sticking with 2k. But then again, this IS a classic gaming forum. Gameplay does rule the roast. Am I going crazy here or does this not seem to be case with people's opinions recently??

no no I like the show "series", I am just not impressed by the PS3's "next gen" graphics... I like the game I play it on my psp every day... my comments were meant towards the ps3 not the 2k vs. the show..

Well, I've spent the last three hours with the game and can say without any doubt it is leaps and bounds beyond 2k7. Graphics are not anywhere near as poor as the reviews have indicated, and the game is essentially the PS2 version with better AI and visuals.

I truly can't recommend this enough. For those of you sick of messing with the fucking sliders in 2K (like me) go get this game. If any DP members are up for an online game (or even a league) just let me know!!

If I hadn't bailed on my ps3 and returned it, I would but I am sticking with my 360 until something worthy comes along and makes me rethink owning a ps3..
