One of the main draws of the virtual console for me is the play suspend feature. I don't have as much time to play as I'd always like, so it's nice to be able to pick up where I left off. This is especially true for games with unlimited continues. Can anybody offer some titles they know of that let you continue as much as you'd like?
On a related note: Do Sonic Mega Collection or Sonic Gems Collection save your game at all?

Don't know about your credit feeding question, but I am like the save state feature of the VC. It is cool to pause a game and go back to where you are leave off a month later. I am do this with New Adventure Island. I am play this instead of my hucard.
I am also like this save state feature in the PSP. A 2 hour game of Lumines can be played in a time span of 8 hours :)
Save state for winning!

Mega Collection on the PS2 definitely uses savestates, I've used (and abused) that feature plenty of times in the past. Frankly, I wish all games had savestates- the 'hours between save points' mentality just serves to make me think 'bollocks to this' every time I die more than, well, 10 minutes after the last save point. It's the main reason FF12 bombed so heavily for me, in fact, whereas I still can't put oblivion down.
