how much do you think the Halo 3 Legendary Edition will be worth in time? just curios as im am debating that and the collectors edition. By the way the Beta starts tommorow i so freaking excited!!!!!

It will never be worth as much as the $129.99 it will initially retail for. They're making as many as they have pre-orders for. Gamestop alone just announced they have over 4 million Halo 3 pre-orders. Even if only 10% of those are Legendary Editions...that's 400,000 at just one retail chain. Not exactly the recipe for a "collectible".

It isn't like the value is going to plummet to nothing, like an older NBA Live game. If all you want to do is play the game, then just buy the regular version but you won't have to worry about buying the Legendary Edition only to find it all over the place for 99 cents used in four or five years. As long as you aren't buying it just to resell years down the road, then go ahead and grab the Legendary Edition.

Personally, I'm probably going to pick up the collector's edition. I'm a sucker for those steelbook cases...
