Check out 4D Warriors on MAME. By Sega 1985. It is actually pretty unique. It is a side scrolling shooter where you can switch between 2 "worlds", by going to the top of the screen. The enemies are totally bizarre and the gameplay is excellent. I think it's up there with Magician Lord in terms of weird bad guys.
