View Full Version : One XBox Live Account on Two 360's?

Last night I took a trade-in that included the XBox 360 wireless network adapter, which made me think "this might be cool for the store, I'll sign into XBox Live here too". I knew full well I'd have to recover the account to get my profile on the hard drive, and that worked out fine. The thing is, now my home machine thinks it needs to recover the account OR (as it states on the rather brief dialog box) copy my profile onto this machine.
Based on that it seems all I have to do is copy my profile to a memory card from one location and drop it onto my hard drive on another. Has anyone tried this? More to the point, has anyone got their Live account running on two different machines?

I made a dummy Japan account for the Eternal Sonata demo and then gave the gamertag + email + password for the dummy account to my friend so he could get the demo and it worked fine on his 360 you just can't be signed in at the same time with the same gamertag on 2 360's

Yah, mine's running on 3 different machines at the moment, in 2 different regions. I'm visiting my friends and family in the US now, so when at my buddy's house I recovered my gamertag. No problem. I did it again at another friend's house, also no problem.
Curiously, I don't have marketplace access to any of the US stuff (mine's a Singapore account) but I can still play and view all of my friends' stuff. So now I have achievement points for games that don't exist in the Asia region!

I believe you will need to keep it on the memory card (and use it from the memory card) in order for everything to work without ever recovering accounts, at least that is what I have always thought. I'd be glad to be proven wrong though.

Kinda in the same vein.... what about 2 accounts on one system. With both being tied to that specific system. I'm guessing that I just need to activate a new Gold account and then select which one I want to use when I boot up the system?

Yes, you can have two on the same system, and have both set not to auto login. You can then choose which account to log in. My wife and I used to do it this way when we had two accounts, but we have now dropped back to one.

OK, can you elaborate? How do I set up an account under a region other than my own?

When you make the tag you just provide information for another region. If i recall correctly. It's damn easy.

Be warned though they have started to crack down on Gamertags that register their name in different countries.
