Hi Folks,

I recently aquired a 2600 cart called " Star Force." As far as I can see, there is absolutely no relation to the NES game of the same name. I'm pretty sure it's a Brazilian pirate, since I got it from a Brazilian, but it looks much like the shorter Taiwan carts with white font, black background, and generic pic on the front.I did get the box with it, which was about the same size as the cart. Of course, there is no brand name. There's actually a cut out at the top of the box to see the game's title. I would post pics, but I don't have a server to host them. I will certainly email pics to anyone who asks. I wish I could take a screen grab of it (cuz I don't recognize what game it is...it's kinda like Missile Command only with rocket ships rising on the left and right sides of the screen and aliens trying to take out my 6 bases from behind a force field I can shoot out ala breakout). FOr some reason I can't even fathom, my video capture card won't take the signal from my game systems, but will accept the cable TV signal...weird...so I can't post a screen grab.

I can send scans of the box and cart though.
I noticed that there is a game in the DP guide called Star Force/ufo patrol....a double game pac. Dunno if this s the same Star Force tho.

Well, hope you can help, and hope I've helped add to the DP guide!

Yours,
Rob

Sounds like this would be good for the "Collecting" forum!

Good find, btw. :)

Hey Guys,

I think I may have given you some wrong info on this. The game is not necessarily Brazilian at all. I was thinking the seller was a guy I deal with from Brazil sometimes, but I was thinking of the wrong auction! So, it's foreign, likely Asian, but now I have no clue at all.

I found out why my video capture card isn't allowing me to capture pics too...the signal has to be pretty strong. My Dreamcast, psx and a couple others work fine, but anything pre psx seems not to have a strong enough signal...weird...it's going through 2 boosters too.

Hey, Queen of the Felines...who's the chick in the pic?

Thanks, everyone!

It's a Taiwan pirate, and we're always filling in new titles like these.

The comment Ashbourn made above only further shows his lack of knowledge, as AtariAge doesn't have this title listed either.

Anyway, thanks for the info!

Confirmed: this is a clone of "Missile Control", an original import title by Video Gems.
