I have been working on completing a US released Game Gear collection and checking eBay every day for the titles I am missing. I have seen them listed in the collector guide but no where else. I can't even find photos on google. I am wondering has anyone ever seen a US version of any of these games:
1.Marko
2. Tony LaRussa Baseball
3. Sports Illustrated Golf
4. Wolfchild
5. Baby Boom
6. Championship Hockey
7. We're Back! A Dinosaurs Tale
8. Hurricanes
9. Power Drive
10. Strider III
11. Trunski
Please let me know. I am very interested to find if my collection is complete or if these titles do exist. Thanks everyone.

I've been collecting Game Gear games for over a year now... I'm pretty sure those games shouldn't be on this list as they don't seem to exist..
I think I even read a thread a while ago suggesting them to remove at least a few of those games... never happened.
Not sure how they decide which games to put on those lists anyway, but I suppose they have their reason to have them up there... I suppose it's possible to not stumble upon any of these games in a few years of collecting, especially on a console like GG... but if it's the case, damn those games should be considered R8+...

Thanks for the response. It is rather annoying when you are trying to figure out if your collection is complete and every list that I find on the internet is just the same version as is on here. I especially find it hard to believe that ones are on the list that no one even knows who the manufacturer is. I can understand that some games are rare but even the rarest games generally show up on eBay once in a couple of years. There are a few other games besides the ones I listed that I don't believe were released in the US but since the game labels have no distinguishing variations there is no way to tell. I do agree the rarity is way off if they do exist.

I'm pretty sure DreamTR has a complete collection (sans a few boxes, however). He'd be the one that would know if they are released or not, because that guy has everything, even if it is impossible to find.

I have box art for Marko and Wolfchild that was sent to Toys R Us for display. However, I have display artwork for a few other games that never were published. Marko's art says it was published by Time Warner Interactive in North America, developed by Domark. Wolfchild's art says it was published by Virgin Games, developed by Core Design Limited. I don't have anything at all for the other eight. I can scan and post the artwork if anyone wants it.

The US Game Gear list definitely needs an overhaul. In fact, all of the lists should have overhauls for box difficulty and all that.
Some collector recently did a (hopefully) perfect list for the Game Gear

Well, Baby Boom (never released) isn't on his list, so that's a good sign.

I just won an ebay auction. Having quite a bit of Game Gear games I pretty much stop bidding on lots because of multiples and repeaters. However, what attracted me to this one was it had a game called CASINO NIGHTS. It was the only game in the lot I couldn't quite see. I was wondering if it was for real. Also, is CJ Elephant Fugitive an auctual US release? :)

Neither of those are US releases as far as I know.

Then BFC's hyperlink to the Game gear US list still has a few bugs because I don't think the CJ Elephant is a US release either. Also Casino Nights, As my research is Digitpress.com, Isn't a release for any system out there. Can't wait to get it. It may truly be a gem.

CJ is a funny one - the boxed copy I've got is packaged like a US release, it only has English text on the box & manual, and the part number doesn't match the style of Codemaster's other European releases.
Having said that, I found it in the wild in the UK, and all other copies I've seen on eBay have been located in Europe :/
Brynaldo (author of that eBay list) would be the best person to ask - he knows the GG library better than anyone else...

I also did some research on CJ Elephant and they only ones I could find pictures for had the US style label which is the white sega game gear logo on the purple stripes. The European codemaster games all have the blue sega game gear logo on a white back ground. I just update my list a couple of months ago and CJ Elephant was not on Brynaldo's list at that time.
I was also wondering about a couple games and was wondering if anyone could help. My US version (or at least I think it is a US version) of Popils has Japanese writing on it but I have never seen one that hasn't. Also my Robocop vs. Terminator has the "futuristic" European style Sega Game Gear logo but I have never seen any labels in all of my searching. Can anyone help?

CJ was a US release. It has the same pink US box art style as the other US Codemasters games, and there is a normal US UPC on it.

How can you tell if a game is US release or not. The CODEMASTER games are particularly tough to spot. I basically just collect the cart.

Bah, guess mine must be the US version then :( If anyone's looking for one, I'll be happy to part with it as soon as I can track down a Euro replacement...

The US version has a pink stripe on the box, like this copy:

I've just seen that VGR have a pic of the Euro version, minus the pink stripe:

My codemaster game Fantastic Dizzy says made in the UK on back of cartridge. I guess mine is not a US release.

I wouldn't rely on that to show where it's from. It's hard and/or impossible to tell the region with some loose GG carts - you'd need the box to be sure.

I'm in real trouble because I mostly just collect the game. Is there any other way of finding out?

Couldn't tell ya without comparing the two side-by-side. But does it really matter if you only collect the carts?

Yes, it does matter. I don't want different versions mixed in my US collection.

I only want US carts in my collection is well. I do collect the boxes but many of them are so hard to find I don't bother. I usually just pick them up when I see them. Anyways, I was wondering if someone could share with me a picture of their US Robocop vs. Terminator and Popils games. Please make sure that you are positive it is the US version. I would really appreciate it.
Also, if anyone wants a complete checklist I have made one on excel and would be happen to send it to anyone who wants it. It is much more accurate than the DP list here.

Well you could start by helping ME out!
What's on your list that's not on mine and vice-versa?
