Haven't seen this mentioned on the site. I don't follow the Twin Galaxies stuff, so I have no idea what the outcome to this saga was, but damn if this trailer doesn't make me want to watch and find out. (Please don't be an asshole and spoil it in this thread ...)

Never heard of the documentary, but the trailer sure is entertaining.

Everyone should thank their deity of choice that video and editing equipment is within the price range of so many, otherwise something like this could never be made. Independent documentaries are where it's at.

We discussed it briefly in this thread:

I saw this at South by Southwest back in March. It's a very good film and a really interesting story... and there's an epilogue at the end that clears up what's happened since the end of shooting. Definitely go see it when it plays wider this summer.

I think it comes out nationally (USA) in August.. I wonder if it'll get leaked onto the intarweb before then? But boy, I can't wait to see it.
And the trailer shows the Time Magazine photoshoot of the picture in my sig!

Guess some people don't look at the front page any more :/
You're right, I don't. Not a whole lot of reasons to if you have frames enabled, quite frankly.

IGN has a new (yet similar) trailer:

I was excited about this movie until I read this, from MTV of all places.

Turns out the movie is biased to show Wiebe as the poor little underdog victim, and Mitchell as being dishonerable, pulling little tricks to keep Webie from beating his score, which he did not. From what I've seen of him Billy Mitchell can be an arrogant jerk sometimes, but not dishonest as the film supposedly portrays him to be.
I understand it makes the movie more exciting and all, but taking one of videogames' heroes and giving him a bad reputation unfailry... I don't like it. I've read that the director said he wanted to give Billy 10 minutes of unedited response, but I'd much rather see him re-edit the film to be more truthful, wherein Billy wouldn't need to be offered a response.
Here are some interesting threads on the subject-

this is coming out as well I guess.
Says it stars Leo Daniels. I used to know him. He was into pinball and now does some acting here and there.
I believe he's in that RESPECT signature pic (I think he's on the far left in the brown jacket).
Kind of neat he's gonna be in this I suppose.

Yeah, I think that's Leo on the Tempest machine there. Didn't he play in the Raphael suit in the first Ninja Turtles movie?

According to him, he was Raph's stunt double for Secret of the Oooze (part two).
When I asked why he wasn't credited, he said he took the money instead of a credit.
He's been known to embelish a lot.
I used to know him back in 97ish when I had my saturn netlink. He was one of the moderators on the sega irc network.

Hmm. That's unfortunate.
I saw the film in its entirety today, and it really is a fun, entertaining, and well-made piece of work. Perhaps the facts would have gotten in the way.

Yeah hopefully there is early viewing option (i.e. limited early release) or something. This looks like an excellent documentary!

Oh, and was Walter Day happy with his potrayal? He seems like a really intense guy. Images of that Michigan militant from Bowling for Columbine came to mind.
