I recently had the luck to come across a 7800 someone left outside of a used game store that wouldnt take it. I hooked it up and it appears to work but the image on screen is to hard to see as it is trapped in an aweful lot of snow. I can see the games working through it, but there is a lot of it and I cant hear any sound over the static. The RF adapter that came with it is actually a NES one. Is this the problem or does the RF adapter not really matter? I also have other things hooked up to the TV. Should I try the system alone? Or is the problem the system itself? I can get it to work in this minimal capacity on channel 3. There is a switch in the back I think is supposed to switch channels but when I flick it, 3 stops working and all other channels are completely unaffected. Any tips on how I can clear up the picture would be most welcome. Thanks

whoever paired it with an nes rf adapter is an idiot, atari systems will not work with an auto rf switch, you need to get out to radioshack and get yourself a manual rf switch which will run you about $10 and it should work fine.
Another Case Closed,

EDIT: I'm not sure if radioshack still carries those switchboxes, but here is an ebay link for an example of what you need...

I'm probably an idiot too cause I think I should have known that. Ha, thanks. I actually think I have the right switch, I just need to dig for it. Thanks a lot man.

Yeah, that was it. I think my brain just fuzzed out or something. I should have thought of that. I was thinking on some off wavelength of "I found it like this so it goes like this." When I should have been thinking... "I found this on the street for a reason."
Anyhow, it's all clear now, thanks again.
