I want to see a RPG where all cutscenes are done in the in-game engine.

I want to see a 2D platform game (like Metroid, for example) that is absolutely massive. Like "several hours to get from one side of the world to the other" massive. Think of a world that's a hundred Super Metroids put together, and that's what I would like to see but probably never will.

A miniature golf game sponsored by Putt-Putt so I can play on real courses, not the tired fantasy courses I get the rare times when I do get a mini golf game.

Yeah that would be cool. No third person perspective, FPS, just a side scrolling action/adventure game. The closet I've played that I liked was Viewtiful Joe on the GC, even though that was a beat em up, enjoyed the puzzles and extra featueres. But nothing compares to a good 2D side scroller.
Quick scenerio: you are in somewhereland-- say the ass end of space, and you forgot something that you need right then and there to pass level 25-4 --which means you have to go back to, say 5-1 to find it. uugh. But hey, all the timed jumps and extra lives you get and so on that makes Mega Man/Super Mario/Metroid/etc so fun.
When will they ever listen.

Sick of the movie related games. Drives me nuts. I own a wii and the one of the first marked down games was Open Season @ 20 bucks. I passed for a quality 50 dollar title. Just a simple, long ass platformer will due. Something crazy.

God yes. Though, for years I've been wanting a game that is a mix of Simon's Quest and Symphony of the Night. Like in Simon's Quest, you have to go around finding the castles (minus the lying, evil townsfolk), and each one is the size of the SotN castle (or larger). That would be the greatest thing ever.

This probably isn't considered modern anymore but I was pleased when Skies of Arcadia did the cut scenes that way.

Shin Megami Tensei IV

I'd like to see the return of the Kunio series (River City Ransom, Renegade, Nintendo World Cup, ect)

Dracula X3. This would tell what happened after Symphony of the Night. Playing as Richter, Maria, or Alucard. 2d action with towns, lvl ups, multiple endings for each character, learning moves, and plenty of puzzles!

I wouldn't mind seeing a well done port of Panzer Dragoon Saga redone with graphical quality of Panzer Dragoon Orta.

I also wouldn't mind seeing SE team with the Soul Calibur team for a fighting game. I'm not a very big fighting game fan, but I'd get a kick out of that game. If they managed to cram in characters from Square and Enix going all the way back to the snes, that would be cool.

The one game I'd really like to see though is Zone of the Enders 3. I'd personally say that ZOE2 is the best mech game I've ever played on a console. I've heard a little talk about a third game, but nothing concrete.

a new streets of rage, or a console pinball game in the same vein as older 16 bit piball releases. one where the tables aren't based on actual tables, and the tables span multiple screens like Alien/Devil's Crush, Sonic Spinball, Pinball of the Dead, Meatroid Pinball etc.

A new full 3-D SPLATTERHOUSE I still play the turbo ver. on EMU luuuv it.
I envision it as being a mix between REmake atmosphere/RE4 gameplay mechanics and Silent Hill 3 type visuals.

a full on sequel of Panzer Dragoon Saga or at the very least a remake of the Sega Saturn classic on Wii for new gameplay elements with the dragoon or even on PS3 with killer high-end graphics.

You guys have come up with some excellent suggestions, particularly a new Streets of Rage. Good brawlers are too few and far between these days.

However, my personal choice would be a new Punch-Out complete with Little Mac and all the fighters from the three different versions (arcade, NES, and SNES). Abandoning the Punch-Out franchise is one of Nintendo's biggest mistakes IMO.

I want a game that is completely unoriginal, uninspired and was probably 98% stolen from Grand Theft Auto or another massively best selling game that was really cool when it came out, but now after 5 years just seems beaten to death. This is because I want developers to be very, very nervous about going out on a limb and taking a chance on making a game that was different from any other "INSERT FRANCHISE NAME HERE part 7" Oh, and I want to pay 60 dollars for it and I want it to be available on AT LEAST 3 different systems, not including the handheld version so I feel confused about why I just spent 600 dollars of loyalty money while a kid with a wii is playing the same game for way less $$$.

after I play my dream game, I'll probably just play Madden 2027. I hear the new "passing system" is really different this year!

I want more side scrolling action rpgs or even more Valyrie Profile kinds of RPGs. I want a turn based RPG set in real life rather than fantasy worlds. There is plenty of imaginative things developers can still do to make money that isn't "INSERT NAME HERE part 12: the return". Look at Puzzle Quest for handhelds. We need more stuff like that.

A racing/driving game that has any and all cars available for use. Old Studebakers, AMC Gremlins, Chevy Citations, minivans, trucks, you name it. Each drives like an individual vehicle, not bunched together by similarities.

A realistic money system that has the player earning $x.xx a day as a type of 'job'; racing times depend on what 'shift' the player's character 'works'. Utilize this money system in such a way that the player will have to make do with what they have as a vehicle until enough funds are secured either through 'work' or betting on races.

Each car fully customizable inside and out. Thusly, the interior must be intricately modeled as well, and fully visible in-game is one so desires. Make the driver look away from the road to change music tracks.

Real-world maps to drive on. Not some simulated city, but a virtual duplicate of actual highway/road systems using GPS technology. Updated in real-time if the technology is available. On these roads, implement real speed limits, and police that WILL stop you. It's not Need for Speed stuff, it's like the real deal. Going over the speed limit at all will cause the cops to come after you. Add in real-time traffic patterns and construction areas. Make driving from point A to point B optional, but possible. This includes long drives from city to city.

Real damage modeling that can and will disable a vehicle permanently. Total destruction of a player's only vehicle would result in a 'game over' scenario.

Persistent online world required. Player builds rep based on performance and quantity/quality of vehicles in their possession.

(yeah, it'll never happen, though a couple games have scratched the surface of my suggestions)

I second this. I haven't played any recent racing games, but I know that 1st person mode in most Playstation and PS2 era racers makes me feel like I'm an inch above the road.

I would have to agree with a great new Streets of rage beat em up and a great, FUN pinball game with multiple screens like Pinball of the Dead and Devil's Crush.

I would also like to see more traditional old schools RPGs (Eternal Sonata and Blue Dragon are a start)..but mostly I would have wanted a Lunar 3. I always thought it would have been made into a crap 3d game, but if it was done like DQ8, then THAT would suit it well :)

I want company sponsored competition games. For example: For Capcom to release a game that would have Mega Man, Duck Tales, Power stone and other leveles compiled into one game where players could choose 5 "stages" out of 20 to compete for a high score. Similar to the Nintendo Championship cart, but on a bigger scale. The games would cover select games from the whole line-up of games offered by the company, not just the new ones. Later on they could release other version of the game with other titles that didn't make the first one, or other levels if it wat a popular game.

Just my thought

Golgo 13.

A Golgo 13 RPG would be fun. I don't really like RPG's, but I would play that one. An ideal setup would be a standard control for the main game, and a gun attachment (Wii Mote?) for the sniping segments. If the game had 80+ hours of gameplay (and well made) it would sell like crazy.

-One I game I know that I'll never see is...a REAL 3D Pokemon RPG. Not some stupid crap with "snatching" dark pokemon like in Pokemon XD. I mean a true Pokemon RPG that plays exactly like the Game Boy games, except in full 3D. I mean, there is no reason why Nintendo should not do this. This game could of been created years ago, yet Nintendo refuses to do so.

Cyberball Reassembled - I can't understand why the current license holder (still Atari?) didn't step up with a next-gen iteration of Cyberball once EA snagged the NFL exclusive and effectively narrowed the "football" genre to a single title. I realize it's only remotely similar to "real" football, but it would scratch that multiplayer sports itch for me. Graphics and more controls would do this title some good.

Star Control Live - Multiplayer melee and strategy modes for Xbox Live Arcade, pretty please? Just churn it out in XNA Studio and I'll buy.

A good Star Trek game

Pokémon MMORPG, but then that would cause the end of the world as we know it.

Instead of ninja looting items, people would ninja loot pokemon spawns. Raids would consist of players going after epic pokemon. Guilds could carry over into Team Rocket type affiliations of evil-doing or Gyms could be created with leaders, etc. Huge 3-D real-time world with random pokemon spawns and a true environment system (rain, snow, day, night, etc). Dueling - ie trainer to trainer battles, item trading, pokemon trading.

Nintendo will NEVER do it however. Too hung up on "friend codes". It would literally be the pokemon game to end all pokemon games, and humanity as we know it.

I'd like to see an adventure game or rpg with a bottomless dungeon. Something which can keep on going forever and end up going "nowhere" in terms of finishing the game, sort of like the Lost Woods in the Legend of Zelda. Except it would be thousands upon thousands of different rooms that are randomly generated as you enter them. I suppose some games have bottomless levels or mazes but usually, it is the same series of rooms repeated over and over to imply that you're lost. To enhance the feeling of being lost, it'd be nice to see thousands of different rooms to further confuse the gamer. It should be the type of area where the person has no friggin' idea where they are supposed to go to get out of their fix. Oh, it'd really be a treat if the sequence of some of these random rooms changed with every saved game and with a lot to choose from, a person might never see the same room twice.

I also liked the "bad" ending in Dragon Warrior (and Streets of Rage) in which you could surrender to the bad guy or join up with them. I'd like to see that become more commonplace in newer games.

Historic Indy, F1, and NASCAR racing simulations for the PC.

Good news on that front - check out Indianapolis 500 Legends coming out for Wii - it is a sim of Indy racing in the 60s and early 70s. I for one hope it's a hit because I'd love to see a sequel with Indy in the 80's - Mears, Unser, Rahal and all.

As for my choice, i'd love to see EA Sports get serious about a sports simulation in something other than NFL, NBA, and NHL. How about a real tennis sim? Something where instead of having 8 players to choose from, you have hundreds and can play full length tournaments as part of a season?

Or another choice - Tiger Woods Golf - have it include a hundred golfers and numerous courses so that you can play a full season as a tour pro.

A new Valis game wherein you can play as Yuko or Lena, plenty of old style Japanese animation scenes, and the game doesn't suck. All 2D of coruse. Telenet sucks now so get Masya or Treasure or someone to make it.

Another domestic Ys game.

A Langrisser RPG, for those of us who think the characters are neat but suck at strat-sims.

A 3D, first person Pacman game. (Has that been done yet?)

A totally awsome remake of Zelda II with cool weapons and stuff.

An RPG where the random encounters are quick Street Fighter-esque 2D 1 on 1 matches

It pains me to say this but you may be right. I've not played a Pokemon game since Gold and the kleptomaniac in me is starting to get restless. Not really into MMORPGs on the whole, but there's something about the idea of Pokemon online that appeals to me in the same way that trying to get shinier stuff in Diablo II did.

A good Star Trek game

Hmm there have been some better than average ones, but I know what you mean. I'd like a game where you can be Kirk - punching aliens in the face and then making love to their women in the style of a rhythm action game. Yep. It'd be awesome.

You know most of those things have been done or has already been done on systems before 2000.

A 3D, first person Pacman game. (Has that been done yet?)

Done by somebody all allready. If you search it should be out. There is also Faceball. We can also do this on a low level PC even lower then 100Mhz with pre-rendered sprites or even 3d. The walls will be flal however.

I think you can also do this with the current Pacman worlds but you might have to use a cheat device.

A totally awsome remake of Zelda II with cool weapons and stuff.

Almost done. The newer Zelda games have bosses and levels that is like Zelda Two. I also have though about that myself but it is an entirely diffrent game.

An RPG where the random encounters are quick Street Fighter-esque 2D 1 on 1 matches

Princess Crown. Almost every battle is like a M.U.G.E.N. battle. You can do all kinds of combos and super moves.

Hybrid Heavan. Basically everything is in 3d and the enemies just walk up to you and start a fight that is just like any fighter but with realistic side effects.

While you don't show damage you will see your body status as well the enemies status blink when you get hit.

?????- I forget this SNES game my freind lent me that practically rips off from the StreetFighter II: World Champions. When you fight a certain type of fighter you can gain certain points. No random battles however but it comes pretty close.

Tales Of Phantasia/ Star Ocean- The first TOP game and then Blue Sphere on the GBC Since you can only control one character at a time during the battle even if people will help.

I would club a baby seal for an 80+ hour next-gen Golgo 13 RPG.

Personally Golgo 13 is never going to comeback as a good game and if it does
it is going to be something like GoldenEye but suckie. Think of the new Shadowrun game but your doing spy things.

It is also not that popular worldwide. I doubt we are going to even see a Golgo 13 anime or cartoon. It would be cool if they did one in the west.

I also wish I could eat a baby seal.

Star Control Live

Kalleria. Somebody also mentioned a game like this allready flying around out there. Also in terms of the original Star Control there is many diffrent games that accomplish this goal.

The RPG I guess so but there might be other games that will give you the same sensation.

Star Trek game

Many other games accomplish this goal. depends on what you want out of StarTreck.

I'd like to see an adventure game or rpg with a bottomless dungeon

That might have been done way way back before the 90's and even 80's already and there is many games with such glitches. By bottomless pit the Mario Bros games seems to accomplish the goal. I remember correctly there was two or more levels where you could fall forever in Super Mario Bros 3. Or was it 2 or World????

Pokémon MMORPG, but then that would cause the end of the world as we know it.

Me and the rest of the world. I have also thought about that too. At the same time the game would have to block out Cheat devices.

Nintendo refuses to do so.

People are addicted to the game and fought over the game in real life. It was also kinda gay seening a whole row of boys sit leg locked in the cafeteria "linking up" and then Rosie O Donnald had Pikachu on her show.

Ahything Rosie likes I suggest we stay away from. farrrrrr away:sob:

They Gold and Sliver batteries all ranned out at the same time also. Billions of peoples Pokemon was erased.

Golgo 13 has the potential to be a pretty good lightgun game. There was an arcade machine released back in '99 in Japan which put you in the role of Duke, with a big-ass M16 light-gun to snipe targets. It was too fucking hard, IMO.

With the recent North American release of the Viz Signature Series 13-volume set of Golgo's "greatest hits", here's to hoping he catches some popularity in the West. His popularity in Japan has stayed fairly even since the late 60s, and he still hasn't seen a proper anime series. Two anime features and a live-action film, but at the rate of one about every ten years I'm not holding my breath for the next.

An American Revolution Drummer Boy Simulator for the Wii. March into battle while playing sweet tunes without getting shot. Actually, if somebody made a good story line in the future, an entire band could be assembled (with guitar hero-esqe drum, guitar, and microphone controllers) and your band could head into the battle while rocking out. The more you rock out, the more pumped up your army would be(all while dodging lasers and mines). Red Octane could bring the Guitar Hero franchise to the next level with this(forget the upcoming Band Hero). Drummer Boy 3000 would be a good name for it.\\^_^/

I can't just list ONE game, but rather several.

Freedom Fighters "Side Story": The Blood of Heroes
---but since IO Interactive is no more, I know a proper
sequel or gaiden isn't ever going to happen except in my
mind. Bloody shame. Damn good game that didn't get
nearly the respect it should've.

Dark Messiah: Strider Hiryu III
---The final installment to the Strider series in
high res 2-D minus the 3-D shit from the official
sequel. Faux 3-D elements but done in the old
school manner. It be a game done in the arcade
style of gameplay but have cut scenes in a VERY
involving storyline ala' Ninja Gaiden on NES/Famicom.
This would be the story of the last 3 "Striders" left
after a galaxy/societal change where Grandmaster
Meio has returned from the abyss and all hope is
lost. Hiryu is now a criminal, but really isn't. Think
Star Wars (eps 4-6) meets Chronicles of Riddick +
a few other things put inside the original Strider
world where a galactic Communist Order is in
full command.

Bare Knuckle 4: Fight Without Honor
---High res 2-D BEU w. Yuzo Koshiro onboard,
enough said.

Sunset Riders II
---A follow up to the early 90s Konami Western
RGS game. This time with a bit more lean towards
the animated insanity of the Metal Slug games but
with a much more gritty look over the original.

NONE OF THESE GAMES WILL EVER COME OUT THOUGH!

We can do it if work together. Stop thinking " I have to be a programmer to do this and that" and think " I have a idea so let me execute it."

This is why I hate the Videogame circles. They are probalbly the most sorry bunch of fans/critics out there. Never attempting to do something.

This is why the comic book people hate the game people and vice versa.

Look at Phantasy Star. The game idea was made by an person who was going to go into fashion design and they know nothing about Programming but they had a idea and now look at the series.

Not everybody has to go to some college and suck boots cowering under a proffesor until they get into some position to wait there turn.

Anachronox Prime, the full, extended, and hopefully bug-free sequel to Tom Hall's tragically underrated Anachronox.

Why not now????

Hey I hear ya man, and I have half of the storyline for Dark Messiah: Strider Hiryru III half complete, having tweaked it out over the last 8 years, but come one man. 1st off... I seriously doubt Capcom of Japan would just hand over the rights to the Strider Hiryu franchise, even though it hasn't gone anywhere since '99 (and I don't count Hiryu's selectability in VS. Fighting games either). Even with a few die hard gamers with deep pockets pooling money together, I don't think we'd have enough to buy the rights. Then if not me, SOMEONE would have to know how to program the freggin' game, in high res 2-D, have understanding of how to properly utilize every trick in the hardware (I'm thinkning a PS2 release), and even with a few programmers it take too long. There are ppl programming Atari 2600 games that started several years ago and still haven't finished, let alone a really cool concept on a game (over at Atari Age) called Fade Out that was half complete and will never get released from how I understand it... which is a total gip.

I hear you on the gamer's coming together part, and ppl utilizing all of their creative talents in different areas, but after 15 years of just trying to find and recruit some kind of die hard gamers professional hobbyist game development group... it just isn't going to happen. Let alone if you're interested in seeing games come out in limited quantities on dead systems, and I'm partial to the Mega Drive personally. Heck on that note it be worth keeping Strider Hiryu low res 2-D and making a massive 80-MEG or more 16-Bit cartridge and releasing it to the Mega Drive. But like with all ideas or design documents not handled by people with programming know how... it's all just hot breathing and wishfull thinking. Yes I'm jaded and cynical.

Budget English versions of popular Japanese visual novels/dating sims.

The sequel to Beyond Good & Evil.

An actual Shining series SRPG for PS2/3.

More RPGs that break free of common archtypes/stereotypes and have female blade users, male healers/summoners, etc. that aren't N1 SRPGs.

If I had the money, I would buy the rights to these and release them for the DS at $10 apiece and release a new one every couple of months. I think they'd sell.

So do I, actually. There was a big 'interest' petition going around for/by Koei a few years back trying to see how many people would buy games from the Angelique series if they were localized and sadly, I guess the numbers must have been too low.

Honestly, I'd love to see some iteration of Tokimeki Memorial, Angelique, or any of the countless thousands of others make it to the US at some point.

DS would be a wonderful platform for them...

Some things I'd like to see this generation include new 2D entries in the Gradius and Contra series, but those could actually happen.

How about a 2D Castlevania on a non-portable console for the first time in a long time?

Modern game?

I want something like Earth Defense Force, or something perhaps war-based, where the city blocks STAY destroyed forever unless you rebuild them, and both sides of the fight have finite numbers. I would like to be able to play through a game and see things have lasting impact, I guess.

Hell just make a WWII MMO based on this and you'd make cash. Set it up so each side of the war can only have so many characters based on real world numbers from the time, and reset it once someone wins. Player deaths would be permanent. People would be selling spaces to play on ebay and shit.

A zombie game would also be excellent based on this. I was hoping dead rising was going to have a set number of zombies...a game like that where you could slowly make the place actually safe would be great.

I'd also like to see Planet Harriers come to xbox live or something, and the new Cobra lightgun game come to the wii....with a psychogun attachment!

I don't have to time to talk with people who give up on there dreams. In fact what are you even doing on this planet if you want to admit defeat.

Also tell me person who gives up too easily. How in the world did Walt Disney did what he did.

[QUOTE]Hey I hear ya man, and I have half of the storyline for Dark Messiah: Strider Hiryru III half complete, having tweaked it out over the last 8 years, but come one man.

Dark Messiah is just the original "Shin Mega Ten" game from the NES but on the PSX.

Most of the game is basically doom/wolfienstein with cut scenes, and only a couple of 3d figures and characters like the Dark prince himself or the girl that your with or any of the other characters that is displayed in 3d for the short time they are.

Strider Hiryru on the PSX is a combination of animated and 3d sprites on a 2d scale simular to Kirby the Crystal Shards or even. The Camera is on the side and that is no biggie.

Strider Hiryu is made directly for western audience like StarTropics. You can walk up to Capcom on any other corperation and present your idea. You don't need to just send in mail and hope for a request.

I have a couple of comics, videogames, and even and I intend to release. If have not given up hope then what about your dreams. Even the most smallest of action is the biggest of movement.

SOMEONE would have to know how to program the freggin' game,

gbadev.org is a great place to start. There is many programmers on and off with theories and they ahve successfully created a couple of gba games. There is also various groups that is towards other systems too.

in high res 2-D,

It is called graphics designing or Arts and advertisment. Basically it is about getting the message to the public. You see it everywhere. Printers also fall under this catergory.

have understanding of how to properly utilize every trick in the hardware (I'm thinkning a PS2 release), and even with a few programmers it take too long.

You gotta have time setup for these things. Like you do your share but you all set your own standards or rules and regulations.

If somebody can release a game with frogger then people can realease anything.

Or maybe releasing the same Strider that is on PSX but release it on 32X since the Genesis is original meant for 3d and FM sound.:hmm:

I'd want to see sequals to Super Princess Peach and Astal. Chances are very slim, though.

I also want to see a true Diddy Kong Racing 2 that doesn't have the stupid gimmics, remixed music, and slowness of DKRDS. Just classic Diddy Kong Racing with improved graphics, a new storyline, and new tracks (Maybe new characters as well).

They Gold and Sliver batteries all ranned out at the same time also. Billions of peoples Pokemon was erased.

My copies of Gold and Crystal are still working.

Well you never really played pokemon like we did when it first came out I was one of the many people out there rushing to waste my $30 on Red Version. I remember those days. God I wasted my on that game. Nintendo should give everybody who owns a pokemon cart a free lifosuckon and weight training set along with a life time of supplement.

I know what I want, a Resident Evil adventure FPS. If it can work for Metroid, it can work for RE, and it would be awesome.
