People have won prizes from contests from getting their name picked. My name was picked on during a show on television when I was a 12 years old.
My name was picked for a show called “the Bowling Game”. I saw my name being picked on a local television channel. It was a televised bowling show that had 2 contestants bowl against each for a certain amount of frames. Each show a name was picked during one of the frames. The person who picks the name is someone who works for the show. Each bowler during the frame gets a name drawn for them to bowl for. If the bowler gets a strike or a split, during the frame the name was picked, the person gets their name drawn gets a prize. If the bowler doesn’t get a strike or a split, the name picked will get a bowling towel. In Order to get your name picked, you have to the directions the commentators give on each show. My parents sent my name in an envelope for the bowling game. On one of the shows for the Bowling Game in January 1991, my name was picked and was announced by the commentators on television. My parents, my younger brother and myself were excited about it. The commentators said if the bowler that got me name from a drawing gets a strike, I get a rented Nes for free with 2 free rented games of my choice along with a free Super Mario Bros./Dock Hunt cartridge for rent at a local video store for 3 days. I was supposed to wait to get the Nes.
My brother and I waited for something from the mail from the bowling game in an envelope and we waited patiently for it. I got a piece of paper from the mail from the bowling game in February. I am not able to remember if it was a letter or a certificate stated were I pick the Nes, Super Mario Bros. /Dock Hunt cartridge and 2 free rented at the local video store they mentioned in the letter.
My dad took me to the place, and I got the system, Super Mario Bros. /Dock Hunt cartridge, and I picked out Fester’s Quest and Super Mario Bros. 2 in February of 1991 on a
