In my opinion.... is snatcher worth $100 (in terms of fun and gameplay) no...But it's rare for a sega cd game, thus the $100.00 and $70 for a backup cart seems high, sega CD back up ram carts can be found for much less....

Sonic CD framerate - I have this on my copy.. granted has a few scratches but nothing really deep or bad, so I was surprised it ran so "choppy"...

Keep in mind that the Sega CD plays burns naturally. You may want to try Snatcher out before spending that kind of money on it.

Also $70 for a backup cart does seem really high. It was a few years ago but I bought mine on Ebay for $25.

The SegaCD has internal save memory. It isn't much. I imagine you should be able to save one game of Snatcher to it. Beyond that, I don't know if you'll have any space left. Some games were save hogs. Shining Force CD took up the most memory of the games I saw, requiring ALL the internal save space for a single game.

As for Sonic CD, I don't recall it's framerate. I do know the game doesn't age well at all. I remember thinking it was awesome back in the day, but just a couple of years later it seemed pretty lame. It's definitely overrated nowadays.

It sounds like your internal memory's battery is fried. It would be cheaper to just buy a new sega cd player than purchase a back-up memory card.

You don't need the ram cart. Unless you want to play several games at a time or play Shining Force CD and carry your characters over to the third scenario (IIRC), then it's just a handy thing to have. Don't pay $70 for it, anyway. I got mine for around $20.

I don't think it's cheaper to buy a new Sega Cd just because the battery is dead. Those batteries are easy to find at Radio Shack for like $2. Maybe your Ground Zero save is just corrupted?

snatcher uses an insignificant amount of save space (very little data needs to be saved for it) you won't need the backupram cart for it at all.

Snatcher is a old old game from the not even DOS era and does not require alot of space. No my Sega CD is working fine and I could not careless unless I need it bad. Also some games might upgrade there need of space.

You might not need the backup cart, but if you are going to invest $70 in it, you may as well get the tototek sega cd cart for a few bucks more.

I assume he's referring to the fact that Snatcher was originally a PC-88 game, which didn't run DOS.
