Am I the only one who would pay if 2K sports released past baseball seasons on XBOX Live at say, 20 bucks a pop? I'd love to play, for example, the 1961 baseball season on MLB2K7, with the proper stadiums, uniforms and rosters. I can't imagine it would take a huge amount of programming as long as you don't care that the players don't look just like they did. Maybe do the big guys - Mantle, Mays, Aaron, Clemente and a few others and generics for everyone else. I suppose the stadiums would be the biggest challenge but some classic parks are already in the game and you wouldn't need to change places like Wrigley and Fenway.
Any other takers? Or an NFL, NHL or NBA version?

For 1600 points you could do much better IMO. Why not include all that in the retail release? This is the "next" gen right? Don't buy tripe like this, and for Pete's sake don't demand it!

It would probably cost too much to get the player rights. Even just getting the names (much less the likenessness) can get pretty spendy).
Also, would that sort of thing be too big for an XBLA download?
It's also setting a bad precedent - EA is already leaning towards making stuff that used to be unlockables in previous games like classic teams and stadiums to be paid downloads instead including them in the game itself.
The new 2K Sports football game is going to be an "all star" game, though.
