I was at a Wal Mart in the toys section (the area where they have plug & play games) and saw a console called Hyper Scan... It was an actual game console with a cd-rom that uses a type of playing card to choose your players. It looked COOL... lol I've never played it or known anyone who's played it so, does anyone here have one or has anyone played one?

Honestly, the card gimmick detracts from it IMO. It would probably be alot more interesting without that element, but I assume it's for kids. I checked out http://www.hyperscangamer.com/ and watched some of the videos, the Ben 10 makes me think of a modern NES or Atari or something... Looks cool to me... Not that I'm buying it.

It's one of those things that I'm hoping will just hurry up and completely bomb so that I can pick one up for $5 out of novelty value. You know, what I wish I had done with the barcode battler (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barcode_Battler) instead of buying it as soon as I saw one in TRU

Toys R Us is clearing them out. System is down to $35, games are $5-$10. I plan on getting the full set shortly.

I have been wondering about this thing... how does it play? What's it got under the hood?

Yeah, fill me in too. Thrifts are graveyards for those games.

I was looking at this earlier also. I said wow nice graphics for a 3d fighter and it was X-men. Personally this thing was a great idea it just needs the right audience.

The graphics are around PS1 level. Not a bad system but its a bomb from a marketing standpoint. I've been meaning to pick one up, but I forget.

There are several liquidators selling the value package which includes a second controller and some extra game cards for around $10. I picked one up last week and it arrived in minty shape. Shipping was like $15, but it's still cheaper than TRU's liquidation price.

Pretty much every Goodwill around here has the games collecting dust, so if your Goodwills are anything like mine, that's another place to go if you're on the hunt for these.

I have noticed a variance in the X-men cards.

Fronts are the exact same, but different backs. It seems that you maybe able to complete both sets, as from my collection, there are about 60-70 percent of both. I'm not sure if any of the other sets have this same variance someone like Bratwurst will have to say as I've only been collecting the X-Men series. Since I maybe the first person to notice this, there might not be anyone who knows anything about this, but does anyone know for sure why this is? I cannot say that I have noticed any errors or typos just yet. BTW, both cards have the same 2006 copywrite data on the back.
