I've been watching This guy's (http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQfsooZ2QQfsopZ3QQsassZvintageclassicgamesQQsbr srtZl) auctions for the past few weeks for a laugh. I think he consumed a bit too many lead paint chips as a child.
I'm really curious how much he pays on a regular basis to list stuff at these prices.

Makes me wish that I had picked up the sealed Mac game software they had at Goodwill last week. Also, I am sure that if you buy the RARE sealed Beta video tapes, he will sell you an equally RARE!!!! Betamax to record on them with.

What the shit? 24 season one and SNL Season one for a hundred bucks each? Don't they cost like $30 now?

Actually, this isn't the worst way in the world to sell rare items. These aren't auctions; they are ebay Store listings, and they only cost $.05-.10 to list (plus the $15 monthly Store fee, of course). It only takes one full cost sale a month to be worthwhile and profitable.
Obviously, if you're looking for quick money or don't want to wait for potential years to pass, it's not worth it. In the last two weeks, he's sold three items for $320, including one full price game for $250 (http://cgi.ebay.com/RARE-Commodore-64-C64-M-U-L-E-MULE-Electronic-Arts_W0QQitemZ110107374842QQihZ001QQcategoryZ4315Q QssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem). That's not that bad!

I actually make it a point to pick up any old (pre-1993ish) sealed PC/Mac games when at thrift stores. I've sold some for absurd amounts and very few games aren't worth the buck or two you originally paid.

Beta players and recorders are extremely more valuable and collectible than VHS. They are tough to find in good working condition. Just like laserdiscs, some beta movies are worth a ton, as well.

Don't they still sell Beta stuff in Africa? That's what I heard a while ago. o_O
