Not sure about the rechargeable battery pack. In reality, either use >2500 mAH rechargeable AAs in the standard battery pack or just plug it into the wall with a genesis 2 adaptor.

Either way, I want that carrying case! I love my nomad, but that case just looks awesome.

The case is nice, but the shoulder strap is grody as hell... It needs a good scrubbing. Anyway, I knew about the Model 2 & 3 Genesis adaptor compatability, but thank you anyway.

I gave it a test run earlier and it works pretty well. The backlights function fine, and the speaker still works. The screen has a fair bit of scratches (unoticable in the picture), but nothing deep that would become distracting.

Congrats on the reasonably priced Nomad and cool case. Having no battery pack on mine... it is removable, but I have no idea how to charge it.

I plug mine into the wall with a Genesis adapter for now.

Pulseman is a great way to take one's mind off asinine phone calls.

$5 each for the PS2 games, all complete. Second Sight looks brand new. The others...not so much. Haven't tested them yet, but hopefully they work alright.

Hook and Abadox were a buck a piece, and Primal Rage was $3, all in great shape.

I managed to get some cool finds on eBay this month. First score was Puyo Puyo for the Mega Drive, which was $8 shipped. Then I scored a TG-16 with Alien Crush, Bonk's Adventure, Bonk's Revenge, JJ & Jeff, Bloody Wolf, World Class Baseball, Ninja Spirit, Vigilante, Legendary Axe, and Keith Courage. That was all for $80 shipped, so I guess you could say it was one of my best finds. Finally, I got a Japanese Master System CIB for $150 (not including shipping).

Pretty dull finds lately. Nothing really videogame related. I bought a new uninterruptable power supply and surge protector for $9.99 at Goodwill, along with a couple CDs: The Official Guide to Babylon 5 and Digital Pink Volume 1, which is some kind of early '90s anime clip-art disk. Looks cheesy. Speaking of cheesy, I also picked up one of those 25¢ DVDs of assorted "classic" films. This one's called Star Odyssey, and it's painfully bad. Just to fill out this crap-fest they also threw episodes of the cartoon Superman, Rocky Jones Space Ranger, Felix the Cat, and the New Three Stooges onto the disc to make it worth the quarter it costs.

Steve_W:
I know of what you're talking about. A few of my friends, myself included, keep an eye out at local Walmarts for those $1 Anime DVDs simply because they are so horrible. A bunch of us get together whenever a new one is spotted and have a night like Mystery Science Theater 3000 and joke the crap out of them. Actually, the other day we found a movie called "The Man Who Knew Secret Kung Fu" and oh my god what a great movie! Good times.

I haven't posted in one of these topics in forever, but I also haven't done much of any shopping "in the wild" in quite awhile too and I don't know if there's still opposition to posting online purchases in these threads or not. O_o Either way, here's what I've picked up the last month or so:

GameStop:

PoPoLoCrois (PSP) - 9.99 sealed
Castlevania Double Pack (GBA) - 14.99 new but open
Art of Fighting Anthology (PS2) - 19.99 new but open
Metal Gear Solid Subsistence (PS2) - 24.99 used, complete

Circuit City:

Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones (GBA) - 11.24 sealed (the price said 14.99 but for some reason it rang up as that, so even better yet :) )

GameCrazy:

Marvel Land (Genesis) - 2.50 loose
Pinbot (NES) - 2.50 loose

Toys R Us:

Gunpey (PSP) - 9.98 sealed
Suikoden Tactics (PS2) - 10.98 sealed
Tales of Legendia (PS2) - 16.98 sealed

Thrift #1:

Wizardry V (PC) - 3.99 complete (I thought might be worth something since it's so mint and has every last piece of its packaging, but apparently it's not. I don't collect or really play PC games [and I definitely don't have the ancient hardware to play this], but it's cool to have nonetheless.)
10-Yard Fight (NES) - 1.49 loose (a little more than I would normally pay for an NES sports game, but meh)

Thrift #2:

The Neverhood (PC) - 2.99 in case with inserts but no cardboard box and such (This is probably one of the best finds I've ever had, and it was a complete fluke. :) I almost didn't buy it since I had no idea it was actually worth good money, but I had read about it in the past and it seemed intriguing and I thought maybe there was a slim chance it would be worth something. Even if it wasn't, I figured it would be cool to own, like Wizardry, and I'm glad I took the chance.)

Thrift #3:

R-Zone head gear unit with Indy 500 and Virtua Cop - 4.99 all loose (Another item I debated over, but I figured "what the hell". :P I still haven't figured out how exactly to get it working. I don't know if it's broken, if it needs new batteries, or if I'm just an idiot.)
Toy Story (SNES) - 2.99 loose (A bit much, but meh again)
Worlds of Power Metal Gear novel - .69 (Already finished reading it, haha. Surprisingly not that horrible.)
Official Nintendo Game Boy bag with hard shell inside it - 2.99
Official Nintendo Game Boy Color bag - 2.99 (help me, I'm addicted to Game Boy bags; I have five at my mom's house alone)

Return trip to #3:

X-Men (Genesis) - 1.50 loose
Asciiware Genesis 3-button arcade stick - 1.50
The following loose ColecoVision games for 1.50 a piece:
Carnival
Smurf: Rescue in Gargamel's Castle
Donkey Kong
Donkey Kong Junior
Gorf
Lady Bug
Venture

Flea Market,hot and unbearable..

I really didn't gop with the desire to buy anything, just for the hunt..I went throght the place 5 times and didn't buy anything until I left.

I call it the Genny,Nes Game day.

Sooo many boxed Genesis games, table to table but too high priced(not breaks) ..
I don't know Genny games well in the regard to what's rare..I didn't notice anything that stood out though...

Dozens of loose Genny Games.

About 20 Mega Drive loose carts..$3.00 Each...I tried to haggle but the guy would go no less..So I just walked away.

Atari 2600 loose,common games $3.00 Each

Some boxed NES games(too high priced) and well over 2-300 loose common NES games $5-6 Each.

PS2 Xbox games $10.00-$15.00 old titles...I won't pay more then $5.00 for either now unless it's a must have.

A friend vendor picked up a boxed Nintendo Action Set.(early-vendor to vendor)
He was asking $50.00 for it.."but" the Nintendo deck was trashed and had stickers all over it..

All I picked up was:
NES System with Docs replacement ac for $20.00(after haggle)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v21/Chris1/Pocket%20Bikes/JuneMassPackages014.jpg

The deck had this name written on it.

This was the best pre-birthday day ever.

Awful day at the thrift today, or so I thought. I picked up a like new copy of Windows ME Upgrade for five bucks. I know. Windows ME. But, it's worth a bit on eBay. :P

Later I looked around and found a guy selling PC games. I went to see what he had (crappy WWII shooters) and noticed a pile of CD games. So I went there and noticed they were CD-I games. I saw The 7th Guest, Chaos Control... other games I didn't recognize...

And then I saw these.

http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j238/foxhack/DP/mariozeldacdi.jpg

Hotel Mario has some scratches, but Zelda is in great condition. :D They have a hole in the back, so they may have been promo copies.

And from another booth... well, this guy usually overcharges me for EVERYTHING, but this time he was in a good mood for some reason. He had tons of PS1 games for $5 but it was mostly first-gen PS1 games. And then I saw he had a PSOne for sale. It had two PS1 memory cards, so I asked him how much he wanted for them.

$2 each.

So I grabbed 'em! They're mint, woohoo. As I was leaving I also noticed a NES Dogbone controller in great condition, and he said that was $2 too. :)

Tuesday flea market, usual sellers with overpriced junk but I managed to pick up a few things.

The game dealer that I picked up the NES games from last week was back out and he brought out a few more games than last time but not that many. Figure that's the last of his inventory so I picked up a few more titles to fill holes, couple uncommons. He had some harder to find games and a couple titles I'd like to have but they were pretty beat up as in scratched to hell and bent to the point of cracking. Gave me the same deal as before, $2 a game so I picked up another ten...

Bases Loaded 3
Casino Kid
Classic Concentration (R4)
Code Name Viper
Defender of the Crown
Desert Commander
Dirty Harry
Hudson Hawk (R4)
Monster Party
NES Open Tournament Golf

http://www.classicplastic.net/digitalpress/DP-Finds-2007-06-26(02).jpg

Didn't see much else until I peeked into a covered area where one seller had their wares. They didn't have anything interesting but a row over I saw some Atari items as I was leaving so I went to investigate. As I was looking things over the lady kept saying how things she had were cheap and told me the price. I thought she was saying $50, which is common around here for this stuff, people think everything is worth a bundle. But as she kept repeating herself she said "one, five" - turns out she was saying $15 all along. Hell, the system was a heavy sixer with power adapter and a nice little selection of common titles, few controllers - couldn't pass it up...

Atari VCS Heavy Sixer with power adapter
Basic Math
Centipede
Championship Soccer
Circus Atari
Combat
Dig Dug
Fast Food
Joust
Jungle Hunt
Pac-Man
Pitfall!
Raiders of the Lost Ark
Space Invaders
Video Olympics

http://www.classicplastic.net/digitalpress/DP-Finds-2007-06-26(01).jpg

All of the controllers went into the trash as they were extremly rough except for a pair of paddles that I refurbished - work great. There was also a VCS remote control joystick in good condition, no receiver but nice enough so into an archival box it goes. This VCS replaces my Sears Video Arcade Heavy Sixer (which is odd since it's in the second revision shell although the internals are identical with the heavy sixer style RF shielding, possibly a transition system) which will be going into storage.

Nearly all the games are duplicates so they get archived away as well. I really need to start breaking my spare four switch machines into lots with an assortment of games and selling them - need to reduce the amount of crap I have.

I hit another thrift that I checked a couple weeks ago (and found absolutely nothing), and I picked up the Frogger board game for 1.99. You have to watch out with those. I tried to sell a original windows ME that came with a computer and ebay pulled the auction. Hmm,What's in this..

I start sorting through the top, finding T16 Games.NES games and some crushed Atari boxed games...Saw a NES,SNES System on the bottom of the Bin..

Not sure what to buy ,too much in the bin to decide....I start to grab what looks worthwhile..(All the wires etc were tangled up,games out of boxes/Mega Man 3 was in the NES)
My initial interest was the TG-16 games ...Asking all game prices some were 2 to $5.00 each..
Frustrated with people NOW hoarding over the pile I'm making(sometimes I just want to do some sort of Ninja spin kick on these people:monkey:)..I throw everything back in the bin..With a bit of anger toward the people climbing on my back I asked the home owner.."How much for the whole Bin"..
$40.00..Ding!!!,I take it and walk away..

Getting it home and searching through it was the most fun at all..
