This is in response to all those that have stated over and over again on how the Gamecube version of Resident Evil 4 outsold the PS2 version.
From Capcoms website:http://web.archive.org/web/20070602165220/http://ir.capcom.co.jp/english/data/million.html
Resident Evil 4 sales:
PS2: Resident Evil 4 PS2 2,000 2 million
Gamecube:
Resident Evil 4 GC 1,600 1.6 million
I DO remember certain ppl on this board hating on the PS2 version and adding statements like " the PS2 version only sold like a couple hundred thousand copies".
Whats my point? ummm dont really have one EXCEPT you were wroooong

Well that's one thing I've noticed. Whatever one group agrees on in a forum, that stays in stone writing. Yet in real life, many will agree that the PS2 version was better. Which I can't understand when there's living visual proof that the Cube was better by far. I guess people enjoyed the fact that it was on PS2, it had extras, and they didn't care about the minor imperfections.
Now, I got to see the Wii and PC version by far, since I've heard nothing but good about how sweet they look (PC) and play (Wii)

now Mega we both usually agree but I have to say that after playing the PS2 version wich feels more "complete" with all the extras its just difficult for me to go back to the " slightly shiner umm er" GC extra less version. in all respect bro:D
second: I played the PC version and it lacks in a couple departments or more specifically GAMEPLAY sure looks nice -but then again ALL versions of RE4 look great- but it plays terrible compared to the GC and PS2 versions.

lets hope so
there is still hope that the U.S. and Euro versions will remain UNCENSORED.

The cube version looked better, but just having better graphics doesn't make it a better game.
I'm not getting my hopes too high for the Wii version. Instead of shoehorning Wii controls into the game, they should focus on developing new Wii games on existing Capcom IPs. I've got my hopes up that The Umbrella Chronicles will wind up being really good.

Then that's all I need to know :) Yet, yeah, I agree with you that the PS2 does feel complete.

Exactly why I thought that the people who played RE4 on PS2, didn't mind the graphics.

Same here! I just saw the latest trailer from Umbrella Chronicles and I'm liking it so far. It's looking as I expected: enhanced GC graphics from the REmake and RE 0 but in a first person, on-rails shooter scenario. Im just waiting to see shots of the rest of the game (supposed have parts from 2, 3 and CV). I'm just imagining what a little piece of RE 2 will look like with the REmake graphics engine :)

Huh? Exactly how long did you play the PC version? There is absolutely no difference in "gameplay". What are you even talking about? It's the same damn game as the PS2 version (only it looks 10x better in high-res).

Why do people say the PS2 one is complete..It's only extra's that Capcom Thrown in there, If Capcom didn't add extras, it would be like the Cube version

Are those figures worldwide btw? I'm assuming so... silly Capcom shouldn't have announced the PS2 version until the Cube one had sold more ;)

I'll eventually own it for all systems. Muhaha! Though I do like the metal cases the PS2 one offers. :D

well, that's not that big of a difference, 1.6 vs. 2.0, especially considering that the GCN had a much lower installed base than the PS2.
