Syphon Filter 3 American Flag Cover

I was searching for information concerning this cover and found next to nothing. When did it come out, why is it so rare? What do you guys know about it?

It was pulled due to 9/11 related issues as far as we can tell. Its rare as all hell and i've only seen two copies in my years of PS travels. One copy I passed up at a Software Ect years ago and have regreted every day for not getting and the copy that Dangerboy has.

I don't think it was ever suppose to be sold, but that could just be me talking out of my ass (I only think this due to the fact that I just don't see ANY of them anywhere). I'd assume that it came out when the game initally came out.

From what I recall my old boss telling me of this find, apparently it was traded in by a Sony warehosue employee. This leads me to believe they had it ready to go, but yanked it at the last minute. To this day most sites use this older version's image for placeholders / default images.

I haven't seen any other one either, for what its worth.

The PAL version doesn't have such a variant, I'm pretty sure.
