I was wondering if anyone knows how I can use my mac to convert videos to a format that the Wii can understand. The manual says that it supports quicktime motion jpg .mov and .avi files, but all the files I've tried in that format haven't worked, yet they work fine when playing them in quicktime on my mac.
I'm sure it's just a simple case of converting them to the right type of file/framerate etc, but I'm can't seem to figure out what that is, or if there are any dedicated programs that will do the conversion for me.

what I want to know is, where in the network can I see the wii? It is wifi'd with my dlink. My MBPro is wireless and hooks up to the same router. If you can find the wii, I'm sure you can send something to it.
I use a freeware program (handy?) to convert to ipod for my movies I make (idvd). Don't know the resolution for the TV set. I would imagine 100% to 100% ratio for the resolution. If you have an HDtv, look into the resolution and match it.

Slip, I have a dedicated program that does this but it's for Windows. If you can run Windows apps on your Mac lemme know and I will hook you up.

WiiTransfer (http://www.riverfold.com/software/wiitransfer/)
This is supposed to support drag and drop conversion of quicktime movies. It also has a bunch of other nifty features. I have not used it, so I can't say how well it works.

thanks for the link. I'm gonna try the demo out later tonight/tomorrow after work, and I'll post impressions.
If it doesn't work out too well I'll send a PM your way Flack because while my Mac can't run windows, I have access to an XP based laptop.

So the Wii lets you transfer movies from your PC/Mac to it? Didn't know it did that.
