I recently picked one of these up from a EB for $5. I'm trying to fiqure out the value of one of these and was wondering if the Wii has affected their value. I haven't decided what to do with it yet. I'm trying to decide on keeping it as a spare, trade it, or ebay it (or sell). I'm leaning toward trading or selling.

Well, there is one going for 41 with a couple hours left on ebay. To be honest though I think if you waited till the end of the wii's life or even wait till the next nintendo system you may be able to get more. I doubt the value will be going down. Just my thought, no one has to agree with it. You only spent 5 bones on it so either way it won't be a loss.

Two factors at play here.
1) The Wii makes the NGC Component cable no longer the only 480p option.
2) Few of the cables were made or sold, due to price. The perfect storm for "Rare".
What will be the dominant factor? I dunno. Lightguns for the 3DO are 'Rare', but are not terribly sought after. Maybe they will be like that, where they have value, but only to a small handful who would actually buy one.
Mine will have to be pride from my cold dead fingers. The Cube is still useful for SMK: DD networking and GB Player functionality, plus it plays GC games.

at this point in the systems life, I think the only good the component cables would do is to add a little bit better quality on the gameboy player.

I actually already have a cube component cable which I'm currently using. I just picked this cable up from EB since I couldn't pass on that $5 price. I'm thinking it might be just a good idea to keep these as a spare for now. Or, I could try to find someone who'd trade a copy of ikaruga for my component cable.
I also really need to pick up a gameboy player.

I thought I was going crazy my local gamestop over the weekend had two my friend and I both picked up one each, I was pondering selling it on ebay, I remember looking at them on there a few months ago and they were fetching upwards of 70+, but now I see them at 30-20, and like someone mentioned here, they are getting 41 for one ending shortly. I am gonna hang on to it, I want to sell, but hopefully it will pay off later. :-)

Yeah I paid 30 bucks for mine, and Its not going anywhere. It will suck ass if my compatable GC ever dies though.
