View Full Version : Doesn't anyone want a free exclusive ColecoVision cartridge?

I posted a contest here a few days back but I didn't get a single reply.
So, I will give you a last chance to win this exclusive cardridge. Otherwise it's going the eBay route.
Maybe the problem was few people were able to see my tech demo at PC4. So I have decided to post several pictures here showing several of the demo key moments. It will be enough to spot about every reference...
The contest is simple: just send me a list of every TRON reference you're able to find in these pictures... Just a cartridge will be given away, so it will become a very rare item soon. If I get more than a complete list, I will pick randomly a winner. I will accept entries till Friday.

Well, I went to the pictures, and the screenshots are Gorgeous. (just get the properties of that hosted image, and paste the addy into your browser address bar).

I'd love to join in the contest! I have the TRON DVD, and I know some about it, but I can't spot the TRON references. Perhaps I'm dense!

Ok, I have got a lot of "TRON what?" emails, so I am now extending the contest... :)

I will give away two copies. Ever if you're not a TRON fan (I know there are a few out there :) ) just send me an email saying "I want a free copy". The first copy will go to the most complete TRON list. The second one I will pick randomly for anyone that sent me an email. All TRON entries will be also eligible for the random drawing. This way if you send me a TRON list your chances to win will be greater.

Hey, don't loose this opportunity to own an exclusive CV cartridge. It isn't going to be sold anywhere!

Looks as if the ColecoVision could've handled a "vector look"- something I wish Coleco had realized with Space Fury and Omega Race.

Hi Eduardo!

I taked many pictures of your demo in action at the PhillyClassic. I know that there is a screen of DonkeyKong and DonkeyKong Jr in it.

I didn't preorder a copy because i know we have a deal to trade coleco games between us. I hope this deal still valid.

I prepared cartridges for sale and a demo to show at the phillyclassic but I had a problem at the border lines so I left all my Coleco stuff in Canada. I finished "Double Breakout" in time for the PhillyClassic but I was unlucky.

Hi Daniel!

Hmmm, so you saw that DK screens there... You know, that didn't work the way I was expecting. That frame interleaving method did colors look like they were detached from each other. I was thinking maybe if I interlace colors between frames they could look smoother... I will test it. Furthermore, brighter colors flick like hell!

Hey, for sure that deal is still up! :D

Ouch! I hope they didn't confiscate your carts! What was the problem? Were they thinking your carts were some kind of time bomb? :-D
Maybe you should try another way to ship carts to US next time... Man, I hope the same doesn't happen to me...

If you want to avoid problems, the solution I heard is simple: Ship the carts three weeks before the show to someone like Joe Santulli or directly to your hotel. If only I knew that before going to the PC4

it was my first experience with the US border lines. First, this bad experience discourage me to try again. After a good snack, I decided to go to the PhillyClassic to play arcade games and to meet in person my friends Jaime, Willie, Joe, Sean, etc...

I see the programmers pannel, they talk about game programming... mainly about Atari games?!
