The "anniversary bash" referring to a celebration (http://www.pspfanboy.com/2007/06/08/join-the-final-fantasy-20th-anniversary-party/), not that thing you do in the comments section every time we talk about Square Enix's upcoming remakes (http://www.joystiq.com/2007/04/17/final-fantasy-i-and-ii-remakes-hit-psp-late-june-and-late-july/). Indeed, the plan is to "commemorate 20 years of devotion, dedication and passion from the greatest fans in the gaming industry," so there won't be any place for you at the Metreon (http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?address=101%204th%20St&city=San%20Francisco&state=CA&zipcode=94103%2d3003&country=US&title=%3cb%20class%3d%22fn%20org%22%3e101%204th%20 St%3c%2fb%3e%3cbr%20%2f%3e%20%3cspan%20style%3d%22 display%3ainline%3bmargin%2dbottom%3a0px%3b%22%20c lass%3d%22locality%22%3eSan%20Francisco%3c%2fspan% 3e%2c%20%3cspan%20style%3d%22display%3ainline%3bma rgin%2dbottom%3a0px%3b%22%20class%3d%22region%22%3 eCA%3c%2fspan%3e%20%3cspan%20style%3d%22display%3a inline%3bmargin%2dbottom%3a0px%3b%22%20class%3d%22 postal%2dcode%22%3e94103%2d3003%3c%2fspan%3e%2c%20 %20%3cspan%20style%3d%22display%3ainline%3bmargin% 2dbottom%3a0px%3b%22%20class%3d%22country%2dname%2 2%3eUS%3c%2fspan%3e%3c%2fspan%3e&cid=lfmaplink2&name=&dtype=s)'s PlayStation store in San Francisco come this June 26th.

The first 100 people to arrive promptly at6PM (on the the day before, knowing hardcore Final Fans) will receive free items that are exclusive to the event, while everyone else will have to be satisfied with purchasing the PSP version of the first, err, Final Fantasy. Square Enix also promises a special showing of July's re-sequel, Final Fantasy II. I'll see you there -- look out for the guy dressed as eager ladies' man and last-minute quitter, Irvine (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Irvine_Kinneas).

That's not who I'm going as, but watch out for that guy. He's a creep.

Agreed.

And this makes how many remakes? 42?

So why is it that everytime Joystiq/Kotaku posts a new article, DPservbot feels it's necessary to post it here?

Because Joe set it up to do it that way.

Right now Joystiq and SlashDot games are being "botted", it checks every four hours and returns the most recent article if there is one.

I can change this, I've been asking for input - better feeds, specifically. So know that this is easy to change but we should use it to our advantage. It's a good way to get gaming news compiled into one place.

But but they will fix stuff, and umm, I don't know more inproved gfx while they take out game play that made the game great in the first place.

This is just sqaure ( Enix ) holding a bash ( Promoting ) just for a game
from 198? ( which has been rereleased to many times )and is now on the PSP.
Personally the gameboy will allways be better then a PSP, Game Gear, and maybe even the NDS.

The only reason I see them thorwing this event is to make people travel far just for this event and waste money. I bet part of the game funding is bein ginvested just for this game.

Oh! Alright, sorry for the confusion. I didn't know it was something new on DP! The concept could actually be very useful.:p

Looks intresting. I like the much bette rlook of the sprites in FF on the PSP, dunno how the sound is. If they bring back the difficulty of the NES title, Square may have a winner.
