I saw this Genesis game at a Goodwill for $4.50 complete (I think, they tape the boxes so you don't steal). I looked it up on the internet and according to the guide, it is a R5 worth $35. I didn't see any auctions or completed listings on ebay, so is the game that rare or was just nobody selling it? I don't plan to play the game, but I plan to either sell it or trade it. Is it worth $4.50 from a value (not gameplay) standpoint?

Buy it, buy it now.
Excellent game, worth the price.

If you're not interested in buying the game to keep and play, then leave it there for someone who does want to play it.

It is one of the rarest Genesis games from a supply standpoint and it's also one of the best games from a gameplay standpoint. It's my personal favorite 16-bit era game and I've played all of the best games on the SNES, Genesis, Sega CD, & PC. So I think it goes without saying that I highly recommend actually playing it.
Though I will admit that the game doesn't usually get a good reception from the casual crowd do to it's complexity, open endedness and scope.

For $4.50 why didn't you just buy it?
It amazes me when people suspect a game to be a steal, but pass it up to run home and check the internets only increasing their chances that someone else might scoop it up from under them. Like you might have actually wasted a couple dollars.
For future reference though, if ou sopt any KOEI title cheap and complete, just pick it up. You'll make your money back.

Its worth it. I did they samething that Porksta did only it was a copy of Liberty or Death Genesis Sealed. Needless to say i went back a week later and there it was, not 1 but 2 of them. Now they sit here waiting for someone to play them.
Buy it and then sell it to me. :)
