The thread has a picture of the game called Deluxe Asteroids.
The game might be ahack from Asteroids for the 7800, or it is made by scratch.

I'm confused... does it come with a vector monitor in order to display these vector graphics? Because otherwise it sounds like they're hacking Asteroids for the 7800 into Asteroids.

My bad. I got it confused with true vector graphics. It appears like it is a hack or it is being worked on from scratch.

They're not true vector...just lines in the high res mode, I expect.
Unless it's just a hack of the existing asteroids, in which case it's low res mode.
Either way, there's already an Asteroids. What's the point? I'd rather see something not already on the 7800.

Thanks for the correction.

There was a game on the Commodore 64 and Amiga called Mercenary that was a first person vector graphics adventure. I never played the first game, but the second game on the Amiga was fantastic. You've crash landed on a strange planet, and you have to track down the machinery in the city to get yourself back into space. Great game. I'd rather see that one ported, or at least something along those lines. There's better uses of vectors than in yet another Asteroids type game.

I found out the game is Astroids Deluxe. Sounds like the Author of Deluxe Astroids is considering to do more 7800 games after this like Space Duel.

Well, considering the lack of home ports for Asteroids Deluxe I'm alright with it then. I'd still rather see someone finish that Spacewar homebrew that got started a while back, though :P

Looks like Asteroids Deluxe, because of the "diamonds" asteroid.
And the programmer is simply going to attempt as much of a vector look as possible with a 7800 on a regular television. My own "Vectar" on the Commodore 64 did this, and not too badly at that.
I hope this game is programmed and does well. The 7800 needs all the new games it can get.
