That's pretty nice! The guy should have put a Star Wars game in the console when he took the photo, though.

Cool mod. Unfortunately if Nintendo would have tried to make an official special edition N64 console like that they would have been pressured by LucasFilm and the epoch into making it look like a Naboo starfighter or something like that -_-....R2D2's head if we got lucky.

Its not my N64, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't want it. :)

LOL The first thing I thought when I saw the title of this thread was why aren't you posting it? Oh.

I would so pay for a modding like that.

That looks awesome, I should do something like that. I have plenty of spares lying around! :)

Edit: When I saw the title, I was thinking of this video: http://youtube.com/watch?v=7YwLQSTo_ow&mode=related&search=

That is cool. Thats a TIE Interceptor right? I would really like to get an N64 like that.

It's Darth Vader's personal TIE Fighter. It was a unique model seen only in Episode IV and, according to Star Wars official canon, may be regarded as a prototype for the Interceptor vehicles seen in Episode VI.

That is cool. Thats a TIE Interceptor right? I would really like to get an N64 like that. It's a TIE Advanced (unlike the other TIE models it has hyperdrive). Only Darth Vader is ever seen piloting one.

I like it. :rocker: Doing mods like this could be very interesting and easily get out of hand. SNES Millenium Falcon anyone? he hee

That would kick so much ass, I'd be silly.

I spent ages looking for a big enough R2-D2 toy/model to put a slimline PStwo and hard drive in. Couldn't find anything that suited my requirements, unfortunately.

Surely people remember the Xbox in the Millennium Falcon? It had an Xecuter 3 chip and X3 LCD screen, and the 'Hyperdrive' was about 4 cooling fans with blue cold cathodes. Pretty cool mod.

Actually I do remember that Xbox mod now that you mention it. Must have been the seed that produced my earlier post. :)

Looking at the TIE used in the mod... I don't think it's Vader's TIE but, a TIE Bomber. Kinda fatter in the backside then I remember Vader's to be. The Interceptor, Bomber and Vaders all have the same angular curve to the side-foils. How ironic that would be, the N64 Bomber. :P

I think the bomber had two sphere's in the middle. One for pilot and one for bombadier (sp?). I also don't think it is Vader's tie, though. I have a toy just like this (with the large arc shape across the back), but I've never bothered to ID it. Might even be a knockoff for all I know.

It's Darth Vader's TIE Fighter from the Power of the Force line of toys.

The original 1978 Darth Vader TIE Fighter did not have that large back section. As a result, the point where the wings connected was a weak spot and often broke.

A TIE Interceptor has the wings "reversed" (the stick out the front instead of the back like on Darth's) and have a notch out of them:

And finally, a TIE Bomber has two middle cabins:

Those are all hotlinked and probably won't last forever.

I'm sure someone skilled in modeling could do a TIE Interceptor Gamecube. It'd probably have to be scratch-built, as I doubt there's any TIE models of that scale. But you could have the clear 'glass' of the cockpit as the disk cover, so you could see the disk spinning vertically as you play. Throw in a Wavebird and it's all good.

It is a TIE Advanced x1, also known as Darth Vader's TIE Fighter. It was a prototype incorporated into the TIE Avenger seen in the game TIE Fighter.
