Anyone have any experience selling at a coin-op auction? I have a jukebox that was a gift and it's beautiful, but it's just not the one I really want. I'm investigating my options and not sure what to expect if I go this route.

I have never sold at an auction before but I will tell you what I know. Most auction houses have a percentage fee plus a selling fee. For example, SuperAuctions charges 14% of the final sale price + $14. While that might sound like a lot of money, you stand a lot better chance of bringing in a lot more money at an auction. Almost every auction will allow you to set a reserve one of two ways, either by picking one before hand or by bidding against your own cabinet. I've always thought the latter seemed a little shady but I've seen it many times.

When selling at an auction you'll need to drop your item off the night before. Generally people are not allowed to open or unlock the cabinet during the preview time.
