What are your favorite retro or not so retro games that you may have discovered or REdiscovered included in more recent compilation collections such as the Sega Genesis collection PS2/XB,the Capcom classics collections PS2/XB, Midway arcade treasures or Sonic gems collection GC etc?

the 3 wonders on Capcom collections vol.2 truly amazes me with its incredible beautifully drawn 2-D graphics specifically the Midnight wonderers "2-D actioner" and CHARIOT the very nice looking and playing 2-D shooter game.

Taken from the Bonus content History section:

available in limited release in 1991 the three wonders is a great compilation of three distinct games covering three completely different game genres.
those lucky enough to play it in 1991 were treated to some to some of the best looking graphics of the time. and the games still look great even today. I couldnt agree more:wink 2:

Bonze Adventure on the Taito Memories Vol. 1 disc (Taito Legends 2 disc in EU/US). It's Taitos take on the Ghosts 'N Goblins esque style platformer, and it's pretty damn good to boot.

Gotta second 3 Wonderers too. That game ate up a lot of my time when I picked up CCC Vol.2

I have to thank Midway Arcade Treasures for introducing me to Satan's Hollow.

I'll take the easy way out and say, just about anything on the two Capcom Classic Collections. There are so many 2-D beat'em ups I never knew existed. Fun.

Midway Arcade Treasures 1: most of the titles on the disc -- that's a lot of great classics there!

Activision Anthology: Pressure Cooker, Beamrider, Pitfall, Plaque Attack, Megamania

Zelda Collector's Edition: Ocarina of Time (but that's because I hadn't played the N64 Zelda games -- better late than never!)

Namco Museum vol. 3 (PSX): Phozon, believe it or not (there's something about that atomic particle game that appeals to me)

New Zealand Story - Taito Legends
Smash TV - Midway Arcade Treasures
Astyanax - Umm, Tecmo? Can't remember.

Plus there's a whole bunch of games like Dig Dug and Galaga that I've always loved and have never really stopped playing.
