Flea markets here aren't really like the ones you see in the states. Most venders sell new articles and some bootleg stuff, and very few actually sell used items. Puerto Ricans in general have an aversion to buying things used, hence the lack of antique stores and decent pawn shops.

There should be a big flea market in the SJ area, but don't expect to find much in the ways of vintage gaming. :(

Melf is right I live in Puerto Rico and I cant find anything! The only time I found something was in the car show where they had a flea market where I found like 3 snes games and 2 nes games.

Don't count on finding any vintage games in PR as they are very rare. The only old games you can get are the used games at EBgames. There is the occasional flea market here or there but they are rare and the odds that you'll find something is slim.

The best flea markets are in Arecibo and Bayamon, AFAIK. Don't expect to find any classic gems in there, all you can spot are bootlegs and many new articles, like clothing, tools, etc.

Dom thanks you for the spambots, Tom. :D

Tom is correct. In the early 90's, you could find a lot of vintage games. I remember going to the flea market in Bayamón, which was originally located near Sears in Santa Rosa. A lot of games, specially Atari 2600 games, could be found. Also, you could spot the occasional NES, SNES, SMS, Coleco, Intellivision, but it was rare. But yeah, the odds were much better then than now. I even remember vividly when my brother picked up several complete copies of CONDOR ATTACK. Ah...good times.

Now, it's a different story. Yes, we are not searching as we did before, however, it is safe to say that the chances are slim. Yes, you may find a game or two, but either fleamarkets have way too many ceramic stuff or pirated stuff.

I can recommend "GAMEBOX" in Canton Mall in Bayamón, but they are horribly expensive. Besides, they don't have many classic games anymore.

I hope that in the future we can come across more games, but as it seems, a big scavenger hunt is in order. I won't deny that there are slightly better chances in San Juan, but I doubt you will come across many titles.

I guess Ebay is the main source now at days... :(

I've had my best luck with small video stores in smaller towns like San Sebastian and Cabo Rojo. Some still have NES, SNES, and Genesis games sitting around for sale. It's a crap shoot though, and you mostly end up empty handed. :(

I remember that when they moved the flea market up further in the 167 street (going to Rexville from Santa Rosa), there was this guy selling beat up copies of SNES, NES, Genesis and such. But after they moved again further up, passed Rexville Plaza, I have not returned to verify.

I wonder if he is still there?

Yup. the very same I was reffering in my post, that one is the "best" flea market in Bayamon. Well, he still has the games. Don't know about the condition of the games right now, I have not visited Rexville in a while. I got from him an RBI Baseball boxed and a few other Nes games, but in really beated up condition.
