I still don't believe I'm having a difficult time trying to buy a Nintendo Wii.
All stores in my immediate area never have it in stock when I call every couple of days and when they do get some in, they only get 3-6 of them, which sell out quick.
sonuvaaaabeeeeeech......
I refuse to camp out for this sheeot.
Anyone have any ideas on how to snag one locally?

Oh, I forgot to mention that no stores are willing to hold them for me if they do have them in stock.

There is another thread about this. I had to get to TRU at 8am last Sunday (they open at 10am on Sun) to get mine, and even then I lucked out and got the last ticket of 39. The supply is getting better, but still alot of demand out there.

It must be a region specific thing, here in AZ Wii's have become very common over the last few weeks.
I don't have much advice to give, aside from the obvious: Check all your local stores often(every day or so if possible), and try to check early in the morning 8 or 9:00 AM. Thats what seemed to work for me when they were still scarce anyway. Believe it or not Wal-Mart was my best source.

Yep. I was at Wal-Mart about three or so weeks ago, and lo and behold there were two Wii units behind the glass. This was not even early in the morning, but rather around 6pm on a Thursday. Odd. I didn't pick it up that day since I didn't have the cash, but returned the next day of course to find them all gone.

Nintendo has a history of strategically making things hard to come buy. THis has been going on long as I remember. I remember tyson punchout you had to give blood to get that one.
It is very frustrating to consumers but they continue to do this.
Plus with the ps3 out of the competition for now and people getting scared of buying a 360 for the red lights toss in the worldwide success of the wii. Production is at full blast and more will be coming.
The outlook is looking good.

If you are really desperate go into a bad neighborhood where they can't afford them and you have a shot at one. I know someone who tried this and they did manage to get one. Just call ahead to make sure there is a store that has one first.
